Teleport issue

I'm trying to emulate something similar to what happens when you attack Sheogorath. You know where you are teleported to a mile up in the air and start to plumet. Well I'm trying to move the player to an Xmarker in the sky using a variety of different functions. However when the player gets there he always spawns on the ground. (And not even on the ground directly under the xmarker, nearby).

Any ideas? I've done a comb of the wiki and forum without finding anything particularly useful.

Simply after player is being moved to new cell use setpos to put him in location you find appropriate.

I've noticed some oddness with XMarkers too. Brucevayne's idea is a good one. You could also try moving the Player to an Activator (like ActivatorFlameNode0) and see if that works.
