Tell me about your Radiant AI stories!

I have played 3 characters so far, and the experience was basically the same every time. NPCs are always in the same spot depending on the time of day, every time I enter Solitude or Markarth specific quests starts, etc. If I didn't know better, I'd say that everything is scripted. I haven't seen anything dynamic at all. Well, one time a guy in Solitude gave me back my arrows I dropped on the street. That's it.

Am I just unlucky? Are there interesting things happening between NPCs I'm unaware of?
Tell me your stories, please!

Most of the game is scripted. One thing i know that the game does and i have tried it out is, if a quest requires you to clear a cave or retrieve something from it, if you have already cleared the cave it may move the quest to a different location so you are not back tracking through the same areas over and over and over again

I think they are all very small things that you wouldn't really notice, I was kind of dissapointed aswell as when I heard about it I was kind of excited.

From what I think I know, talking to the jarl or thier steward gives your radiants quests, like they may send you to bandits or necromancers depending on which you haven't fought so many of recently. Furthermore, its little things like some quests sending you to a different NPC, with 2 or 3 different possibilities (like I know for sure "a night to remember" is), so it is possible you got "unlucky" there, but I'm really afraid to say they don't make so much of a difference :shakehead:

So far i have yet to see a dragon swoop down into a crowded town and start randomly attacking. I have had a few random encounters with Dragons in Winterhold where Dragon landed in the courtyard but everything else has been in the wilderness (outside of the main quest that is). I have seen a few minor things like a group of Thalmars attacking a group of vampires near the roadside or a random mage having a fight with a frost atronach in the middle of nowhere. But i was execting much more from the hype Bethesda were giving. As it is i could witness random guards fighting aminals in the wilderness of Oblivion or come across a hunter wandering through the world in Oblivion too. 6 years on hasn't made much difference.

Most of the game is scripted. One thing i know that the game does and i have tried it out is, if a quest requires you to clear a cave or retrieve something from it, if you have already cleared the cave it may move the quest to a different location so you are not back tracking through the same areas over and over and over again

This was the opposite for me. I had already killed the dragon at Mount Athnor, when i got the quest from the Jarl i had to go back and do it again, they did not catch on to the fact the dragon was already dead.
