Temp Lag Solution (360)

Post » Mon May 09, 2011 8:21 am

Ok before in say this dont give me the "Oh that wont do anything etc etc" , since i did the following ive played 3 hours and never ha d a "unplayable" game sure theres lag , and there still has to be a fix but its playable! :D

Anyway basically you must install the game to your HDD , then play in competative mode (5v5) i know you guys probably wont belive me -.- but hell its worked for me!
im from england and majority of games ive been playing ive heard american/canadian accents so doubt its a eu host , what have you got to lose to atleast try! :flamethrower:

5 v 5 is less then the regular 8 v 8 so the host would have less to down/upload. It would still depends on who the host is. Nice tip tho, it is plausible.

im sure the majority of lag is too do with the textures taking ages to load , and when its on the hdd the texture issue is pretty much no existant :) , i hope someone else gets some joy from this as it worked for me and cant be a coincidence as ive played alllll day and it wasnt till i installed to HDD that the rubber band lag stopped :celebration:

Some one suggested that I try playing with Old Skool settings.. And to my surprise it worked like a charm. Just played 5 games in a row with almost zero lag. The texture crap was still there a little, but all in all I had a blast..

Hopefully they can get it working on any setting, but for now Old Skool will do... much much better experience now.. :)

-sigh- Unhelpful for me. I get unplayable lag sometimes. Though there is a possibility that's just my connection.

I found that changing the settings from 'standard' game type to 'advanced' helped too. There may be a couple of lag spikes every now and then, but they last only a few seconds as opposed to the whole match. Though, most games don't lag at all.

Switching your match type will work like a chamr. I've been playing almost lag free since seeing this thread yesterday, I posted one up in the hardware forum to let others know what to do. So thanks :)

Just an update , ive played around 15 completed matches today already and id say 70% had barely any lag and the other 30% was the sort of lag that pisses you off but you can still put up with it , ive been playing old school today which allows 16p games , hell i was in a 8v8 and my entire team were talking 3/4 were complaining of lag ,and me and 2 others were saying how smooth and lag free it was , i messaged everyone on my team and everyone one who said they were lagging said they were rubberbanding and hadnt installed to hdd.

well, it seems that, so far, there has been an improvement to the lag issues, at least for me, and i haven't saved it to the HDD yet. So, Bethesda, whatever you're doing, keep it up. we won't quit complaining until we get there, but i appreciate what you have done so far.

Played nothing but 5 on 5 last night and had lag in every single game. While 5 on 5 is likely to be less laggy than 8 on 8, it's still not a cure for bad netcode.
