Templar armor question

Post » Mon Mar 03, 2014 2:40 am

I've been reading up and had wanted to go heavy armor with bow and sword and shield for weapon slots. I am planning on taking the heal skill line and run as a main healer.

But I've noticed two things. With full heavy especially once you get full even level blues you are a tank with a shield. But there is little magika recovery and I can only get off 3 instant heals before I'm dry.

I've also noticed if you hit a target from stealth you obliterate it especially with a hard hitting skill. In a group if you have several people doing this you don't have a need to heal even on elite mobs.

So... I'm back to square one. Go defense with heavy, go magika with light or go dps with medium?

Ideas?

I personally would use light armor, and get all the passives.

That's what I was wanting to do as well, and I set aside this weekend to try it out. The class heals were very lackluster and magicka intensive, and regeneration wasn't enough to make sustained healing possible. If you want to heal, it looks like you either go Sorcerer or wear light armor.

I run 5/2 light heavy all lvl ups in health Armor full magicka enchants

If you want to run Main Heals do it with a Restoration staff. Morph Grand healing into Healing springs drop the AoE heal and regain Magicka for every ally healed. Base you can effectively regen 900 magicka in 3 seconds

Oh yeah, enchants.

At max level the enchants are ridiculous.

Ok enchants were not something I've seen in action. So could a Templar go 5/2 heavy light with all enchants in magika and be viable or do you still need light.

As for mage healer I thought about that but I don't like the staff heals. I'd really be upset if that was the only way to effectively main heal.

So, at max level what a lot of people do is this:

Because health gives you 20hp per point, and the other stats (stamina and Magicka) only give you 10, it is very popular at level 50 to respec ALL 49 attributes into health and enchant the other two up beyond what they could be with just the AP.

I'm a Templar, I shouldn't be using a staff....
