alright , i stand corrected. either way i am going with the templar. i just wanted to know where people were getting this information and if the NDA was lifted, now i know.

You can make an aoe monster. Use Reflective light, Power of the light,Searing light. Elemental Drain and Inner light. Shooting star as ultimate. I really don't see a problem with mana. Just wear light armor and use some enchants. You have restoring spirit passive too. Then there is equilibrium too if you run healer templar to trade hp for magicka.
i think the point about that is though if i wanted a glass canon i would roll a sorc. i rather like the look and the skill line for medium armor. where as i know people are saying you dont have to wear a full suit of one or another set of armor i am just kinda blah to wearing light armor. which is my opinion i understand.
That
Play what make you happy to play, what encourage you to move forward. MMO games are always about buff and nerf to bring the classes at a perfect balance. If really the templar is in a bad spot, it will be buffed. If really the templar was too strong, then you are seeing the correct version how the developpers want it to be.
Moving to another class because it is supposedly "stronger" will only result in you possibly getting a nerf down the line. FOTM (flavor of the month=strongest at the moment) classes always get nerfed, unless the guy responsible for balance is Georg Zoeller (the guy who balanced Warhammer online and Starwars the old republic) then if you pick the strongest class, you will always get stronger and if you pick the worst class, you will always get worst.
Honestly most of the information on these boards are based on personal experience, which is great, but doesn't necessarily translate to a firm reality. As someone mentioned above there were a few PTS Templars that were used to playing a certain way and once that got nerfed then they felt their class was broke. Happens in every MMO with everyone and every class.
Recent example in SWTOR, DPS Operatives were absolutely devastating in PVP - BEYOND OP. I was an operative and I literally got bored to death because they were so strong. Then they were nerfed and nobody played them. Were they broken? Nope, still good, but more in tune with the rest of the classes, but because of it there was the same reaction on the boards.
Templars are and will be strong healers. They have too many tools and there are other skill lines outside of class skills to manage magicka usage. I will say this though...levels 1-10 are rough on magicka because of lack of gearing/skill points, but once you can start to gear for more magicka usage it gets better (as with any class really).
On the plus side, if Templars are in fact weak, they'll be the first to get the buff stick, probably well before you get your Templar to end game
I love the idea of the Templar, but found them somewhat more challenging to play than the other classes. I started as a Sword and Board Templar as I love playing a Tank, but found levelling more difficult. My gear was always current an enchanted with Health and Magika Regen. Of course, I made sure to block and interrupt as much as possible, but still felt comparatively weak.
I switched over to Bow, and things changes - my Templar felt much more in line with the other classes, but still I would love to play and Sword and Board Templar and not feel like squishy.
Hopefully some changes will come, but I can't really depend on heresy from other players. I think I'll just play another class, until changes actually do happen.
yeah if i focus on pve grinding i will hit 50 within the first couple weeks of game play ( i have stupid amounts of time to spend on this) if it stays at the pace it was during the betas (even faster with the imperial edition ring set up supposed to give exp boost if you run the quest with a friend? still need one of those...a friend to run it with...lol)
sword and board on this game takes a whole lot of knowing when and how to block properly...anyone can tank on this game if they block like they are supposed to even if they arent wearing heavy armor and a sword and shield. also part of the templar's ability to tank is directly linked to the classes ability to heal.
Templar healing at end game is fine. Just follow this simple 4-step plan:
Yes, blocking is key, but I still felt like playing a Sword and Board Templar was underwhelming. I also question why Rushed Ceremony was placed before Healing Ritual in the RL tree…makes way more sense to have them switched around - specially early in game.
It is not the first nor the last balancing that ZOS will implement. Expect all classes to be changed very often in the beginning at least.
So if you don't own/can manage to catch one of those furry beasts you're S-O-L? :-/
Pretty much. If you want to run an end game healing Templar, not having a feline companion would certainly be a.....er.....cat-astrophe.
Which Templar skill was changed? What does it do now?
Have not tested this but just looking at the medium armor, dual wield Templar i do see potential in the numbers. You can Charge in and pop Shuffle+Ember Explosion. Rapid strikes to low hp then spam Biting Jabs. Don't know about the Ultimates they don't seems so good with melee. Maybe Nova?
dont try to use logic with most users.
A class get a change on a passive, suddenly everything is broke and the worst class in mmo history.
Most people adapt and i saw streams on twitch of 2-3 people playing a VR10 as a templar/templar healer and they still solo most of the stuff and heal dungeons just fine.
yeah that is what i was using for ultimate was nova , the aoe one you unlock first was alright but i ended up switching it out to nova cause i liked the morph more. i had the single target bleed from dual wield line which was morphed to give me health from the bleed, along with rapid strikes in second slot do believe i morphed it to strike more times. third slot was either the run speed increase buff , or evade i think is what its called , add 15% dodge chance or some such , from medium armor line. with the HoT and the shorter burst group heal. sorry i am bad with skill names and my brain is hardly pumping on all cylinders lol.
for aoe i would use whirlwind , the frontal cone attack from templar skill lines that has a knockback , there was a skill in my third slot that threw an orb out at your target, i morphed it to hit two more targets its a dot. same heals in last two slots. same ultimate.
Lol!
*takes notes* Wait ... what if you don't have a cat?
Your face ought to work in that situation. Especially if you like tuna.
NDA or not, people break them, and quite brazenly. There is a site called beta cake known for posting beta videos. The more common NDA breaks come from people who are friends with others, and tell them info. That gets passed on under the table. Has been mentioned NDA came down. SO really lots of info has come out. Been videos on youtube and all kinds of things.
Anyway, back on thread topic, I am watching this Templar malarkey with interest. I only got mine to level 5 I think, pretty much following the serving suggestion of the character creation of heavy armour and 2 handed. Quite enjoyed it, but first levels are easy anyway. And I note with interest, more than any other class, there seems to be questions about the playability and effectiveness of the class. Which leads me to ask, is what we think of this class, the same as the devs think?
Hey, I'm not a cat person (dogs ftw), but if you want to heal as a Templar end-game, you have to make sacrifices. A cat is pretty much required.
