Templar wearing HA? stamina or magic race?

They have in house testers I am sure. My point still stands that PTS players thought Sorc might be a better healer than Templars, and both NB and Sorc were better at DPS, and every class was consensus better at tanking. Then they nerfed Templars hard. If they wanted to "fix" what actual players thought was fine, they should have made it a simple change so that Sta abilities give Sta back, and Mag abilities give Mag back (still destroying synergy builds) and lowering it to 2%/3% rather than 2%/4%. Then the problem which did not exist would be fixed, and Templars playable. The fact that PTS players say Templars are completely broken and not worth playing, and nothing has been done about it in weeks is very concerning. I tried about 15 times to log in and play, and it was just so bad I stopped each time after about 30 min.

In fact, the class everyone thought was OP was sorc, many think they are #1 at every single role.

That at the time you hit it the class would be already re-balanced OR people find different ways to play it. Don't take everything said in this forums as gold, this includes my post of course .)

I fully appreciate that the launch class conditions are likely to be different than even the final pts ones. However.....

What does concern me greatly is why something so drastic as the change to Templars was introduced in the first place. I have been in several private betas in other games over the years, and experienced the developers tweaking classes on player feedback. I struggle to recall a time in those where a seemingly ad hoc decision was made to completely remove the effectiveness of a class/role.

The obvious questions and concern to me now is where were the balance checks, the reviews, the approvals before this change was introduced?
Where there any at all?

Are we in for further examples of extreme changes in other classes after the launch? - No one without a crystal ball can answer this question, people can only base their answers on how the devs have behaved so far, their history of actions.

If people do that then the answer would be yes.

So my doubt is, maybe the change was not that extreme as some people want us to believe? Maybe it hurt certain playstyles and now people are upset because they need to change and adapt instead of running their perfect build?

There was one way the devs could have fixed most issues. Having more people on the PTS. I dont know what sort of feedback they get from PTS players or they even listen to them. But stuff like the phasing issue would have been spotted earlier if there were actually more people on the PTS. More than their history of actons their lack of communication concerns me more. In before people say the devs have been communicating. Let me ask you this , why was the NDA only lifted1.5 months before launch. And why do almost all AMAs mostly contain hand picked questions about the imperial collector's edition and crafting (the only thing in the game which doesnt have many flaws).

Eso is a good game , but it will fall flat post launch if the devs carry on like the post launch and it will lose the potential to become a great game.

Honestly, I can see the reason they nerfed Restoring Spirit, since it was the crutch holding the class up apparently. The trouble I have is that they didn't replace the nerf with something else; if one ability alone is too powerful, then a reduction is fine. But if the class depends on it to be played, you need to improve other skills or decrease magicka costs to compensate. At the very least, come on the PTS forums and address the problem.

How have Templar tanks , Stam based DPS holding up? I also, will roll Templar at launch, and was curious about these builds. Personally planning the same I ran in Beta. Two handed support based off of Magika mostly and lower magicka cost/magicka regen/ + Magicka enchants Heavy/5 Light/2 and I am wondering as a support DPS eventually PvP build, would I be hurt as bad as a pure magicka build or not?

Was also wondering if Templars delving deep into the Mage Guild Tree for Equilibrium would be able to get it done or is it really that much of a lost cause? I am new and was just wondering if it is going to go so far as me finding trouble finding a group because of my inability to have enough resource (magicka) to be worth taking along on endgame raids? There must be some options. Say you wanted to brave it regardless, what would you suggest? (Just curious, have my build mapped out, but my interest has piqued)

Go with what you feel is right and related to your play stile; for now. Be assured that things will change over the first little while as the game finds it's centrer. If / when things change as you are playing / levelling you can always respec in game.

I'm pretty sure many of us will respect a few times in the first few weeks or months.

As for armour and weapons, those items can be switched out quite easily or at least crafted, if no drops are forthcoming. Yes, they may not be on par with what you have, but you should be able to replace them in no time.
