I just finished off Dagoth Ur and thought I would do some temple quests. When I asked Tholer Saryoni for some duties, He wants me to to do the pilgrimage first. I'm confused because I completed that quest (or pilgrimage) before I took on Dagoth Ur. Do I have to complete that quest again?

But there are other pilgrimages to do.
I suspect he's asking you to do the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Malacath_of_the_House_of_Troubles which are much more interesting and complex.


if you didn't complete the Seven first, you'll have to do all of them.

I double checked my diary (white button) and didn't see a journal entry for the ghostgate shrine. So I went to the shrine a gave a soul gem and now I have all the lights and flashes surrounding me. I went back to Saryoni for duties and he wants me to do the seven graces pilgrrimage again?

I would double check that you've done all seven pilgrimages.
Then speak with the other Temple quest givers to make one of them recognize you've done all seven, and it will update your journal.... then Tholer will have quests for you.

Do as many Temple quests as you can find before doing Tholer's quests, because you need to be at the rank of Diviner or higher. (it's needed for Tholer's quests to start)

If none of that works, there's no way to fix bugs on the Xbox. But this problem isn't listed on the wiki anywhere, so it shouldn't be an actual bug.

I tried to start the seven graces quest over and the first one was MUCK. After giving the muck it indicated my journal was updated, but after checking my diary, no new update was noted. I'll re-check to make sure they are all done. I have no idea what all these bright lights and sparks are that are circulating all around me. I thought it may have ahd something to do with completing all the grace quests?

You need to read the book The Pilgrim's Path, and follow the pilgrimage to all seven shrines. (you were giving a copy when you joined the Temple, but the book is easy to find in any Temple or bookstore)
Most of the shrines you need to visit should be marked on your map once you started the quest and/or read the book.

The lights circling around you is a blessing, from touching the shrine at Ghostgate. It is temporary. (most shrines have these)

You cannot repeat quests in Morrowind. So any journal updates that you get, means that you have not done that quest before.
Make sure you're viewing your journal in the default manner (chronological) when you want to check it for recent updates. (not viewing the search feature)

UPDATE: I went to the priest ar Maar Gan and got a blessing of the temple and all the flashing lights stopped but all the people in two different temples kept telling me I needed to complete the quest of the seven graces before I could reveive any duties.I just spoke with the priest in Aid-ruhn, Tuls Valen and got a journal entry the seven graces quest is complete and I can now take duties,. Thank you all for the suggestions
