...you do realize you put a spoiler in the topic title, right?

considering bethesda said werewolves were NOT gonna be in the base game before release, and then people end up finding them hidden in the game world, i think just mentioning that they are in is considered a spoiler.

You get a choice at the end of the companions quests whether or not to be a werewolf? Thats good, I thought I'd be stuck. (Haven't finished the questline yet)

Lol, apart from you putting a spoiler in the title :P

I have become a Werewolf and it doesn't have many pros or cons really. The only real con being is that you can't get a rested bonus from sleeping.

Werewolf combat is very... buggy? If you shift during mid fight it takes around a 5 second animation for your character to have "turned", by that time your enemy has already beaten the sh*t out of you. Which to me doesn't make sense, they should slow down the time or something, or cut scene whilst he changes, so that you don't lose any combat time. Otherwise you have to shift before combat, which is kinda annoying because I like to open up in sneak with a few arrows to take them down a little bit before melee.

There's also a bug where when in "Beast form" (as they call it) your 1h weapon is still equipped, and he does a slashing animation with the weapon in his paw. Which looks ridiculous. Another thing that bugs me is that when you come out of Beast form, you're naked - which makes sense, but tis just annoying to have to re-equip all your amour and weapons. Especially if you're in the middle of a fight.

Pros are increased damage, and faster movement. But only as long as you kill and feed. So this could last a while, could last only a minute.

These aside, it's a nice idea though. I don't think I'll be looking for a cure any time soon, hopefully they'll fix the little bugs with it and I'll be using it more often.

EDIT: Although that being said about the Shifting animation. I'm wondering if you could use the shout to knock them back, and then switch over to the beast form power whilst they're stunned and knocked down...? Not sure if that would work, but they are two different abilities since one's a shout and one's a power. Can you use both in one day?

werewolf is awesome, both for good and bad guys. i almost never use it. only when i have to invade a fortress/castle full of enemy's. it makes everything ridiculous easy because you get a shout skill u can spam nonstop making everyhing in a insane large area flee for 30 seconds. in that time u can just slaughter everyone so its practicaly godmode. but its still fun to do now and then

Beast form is an excellent ability to have. I actually dont use it against large groups, because i think its easier to kill them without it. But it is very powerful against casters. Even some of the more powerful casters can do nothing against you. I encountered a certain very powerful caster on top of a mountain. I had a hard time dealing with him as i was a pure 2h malee warrior and only level 15ish. But then i let the beast loose and he didnt get a chance to cast anything. I just slapped him with the powerful attack on the move wich interrupted the casting everytime. Very nice to beat such a powerful foe as a low level warrior. The reward was pretty sweet.

I tried out the Werewolf thing for a while but didn't really like it. Still if you want to try it out, go for it.

There's also a cure:
Spoiler
The same way you will cure the ghost of Kodlak of the Werewolf "curse", you can also heal yourself. All you need is another head of a Glenmore (spelling?) witch that you burn in the holy fire in the tomb of Ysgramor. You will then get to fight your wolf spirit and after having defeated it will be free of the Werewolf thing. That cure is for good so you will never again be able to become a werewolf after that.

As a Lizard guy I wont cure myself as werewolf fixes my lizard to how he should be that is disease immune (only downside is no rest XP bonus but then XP comes so fast anyway).
