TenpennyTower Quest..tough call

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 12:01 am

*Possible SPOILER if you haven't completed this quest*

I was torn by this quest... The way i see it, the residents of tenpenny tower were there first and are in no way bothering the ghouls (other than not letting them in) they simply dont trust ghouls or dont want them living there. From the tenpenny tower residents point of view maybe they cant tell feral from non-feral, therefore don't know that the'yre lives wouldnt be at risk by having the ghouls as neighbors. I also think allistair tenpenny is an awful person but i could always kill him individualy... tough call and a tough decision in my mind. I disagree with the fact that i recieve negative karma for siding with the tenpenny residents. I was wondering how others felt about this quest... thanks.

Personally I definitely felt that the "side with Tenpenny residents" option was the better option. Roy and his lot don't have a "right" to live in the tower, and Tenpenny is under no obligation to let them in.

Besides, the fact that Roy turns out to be just as bigoted and in fact massacres the residents regardless, just means that the Tenpenny residents were right not to trust him.

I'm suprised by the response from the Enclave. I would have thought they would allow the ghouls to overrun Tenpenny, than go in and clean out the ghouls and declare to everyone how the avenged the deaths of the original residents and freed the building from the infection of the mutated invaders.

If the Enclave wanted to eradicate Tenpenny Tower specifically, they wouldn't need any excuse or have any sort of justification for it to other people. They would just do it.

If Autum had any say in it, he'd actually want to help the Tenpenny residents.

None of them are in the right.

That idiotic doctor presents theories about ghouls to the Tenpenny Residents as fact, even though no other doctor or scientist has even talked to him about his theory; which lead to the residents to seeing ghouls as zombies.

And Tenpenny isn't obligated to let the ghouls in, it makes sense to tell them no because they smell and Roy just needs to accept that ghouls aren't liked there and he should move on to somewhere like Underworld.

I kill the ghouls.
They should be allowed to live there. But Tenpenny is allowed to not let people live in his tower if he wants to. It's his tower. He probabely turns away lots of people for lots of reasons.
And if they are allowed to live there, the nice explorer gets killed in the massacre. And I don't want him to die. And the good residents die too. There are some, they're not all bad people.

So it is better that the ghouls die.

When I let in the ghouls to tenpenny tower Roy said you have to take what you want in the wasteland and he SPOILER ALERT kills the tenpenny residents, this makes him and evil character in my eyes and nothing more than a raider so I have no bad feelings about killing him and his friends, since he has a perfectly safe place to live in the underground so there's no reason to bother and kill the residents other than to get fancier digs, [censored] three dog and the writers strange morals on this quest.

Have to admit, I enjoyed the 'massacre' so much I re-loaded it and did it about 5 times. Had a run about to see how each resident met their end. Good old Dashwood (?) put up a hell of a fight in his room on one occasion, backed into a corner he let rip with his shotgun just like good old days, he took about 4 of them down before he was swamped by sheer numbers, Argyle would have been proud!

After however many years it’s been, I’ve never taken sides. Roy goes back to his hole in the ground and the Tenpenny residents continue on with their antics. The reason I’ve always done this is because of the three major vendors. If you allow them to be killed off by letting the Ghouls in, you will forever more be short of ammo and without a great place to dump some of your loot. I don’t like Ghouls anyway, except I do tolerate the Ghoul vendor in Underworld.

I have found the opposite. The ghouls take over the two stores and give 100% value for everything you sell. It's the best place to sell your junk for top prices. And it gives you the Ghoul Mask. It's great when you go up against the Ghoul Reavers.

Eh, I stuck with getting them inside & living with everyone. No blood spilled, & those who truly hated them left to live in the waste.

I'd say let the waste eat them up, killing them is not even worth the bullet unless they fire first.

The mask is nice, & useful if you hate reavers. But this is one of those tough calls were Bethesda actually did make it complicated.

You do realize that when you go back they've already killed everybody in Tenpenny Tower anyway?

Except Mr. Burke who kissed Roy's ass and was allowed to live.

I did return, but by doing that I was not the one who killed them my self.

Let them shed their own blood. I helped get them in, they can do the rest.

I couldn′t stand that stupid people(expecially the pink dressed b++ch and that annoying fashion slag designer) , I killed all bastards from Tenpenny Tower, and let ghouls in, also enjoyed my freaking looking ghoul mask and got closer to some ferals. What to say, I have always been a ghoul fetishist.

After finding this out in my own game for the first time, Roy's head is popping off first thing when I get to that area.

The problem is entirely Roy, if one could say simply let all the ghould move in except Roy everyone would be happy(except Roy). The ghouls have a nice place to live, the residents don't actually mind having ghoul neighbors. Saying the ghouls can't move in because they're ghouls is racist. Saying the ghouls can't move in because thier leader Roy is homocidal is actually reasonable

Or you could invite the ghouls in AND save the residents! ;o
