Having a barbarian named Cohen, a guardsman named Vimes or an assassin named Teppic will be enough for me. (I just picked up pyramids, can't wait to start it).

Yes, Pratchett-y easter egg would be nice. This guy is my favourite author and I read every book.
Wasn't there some other game with a tombstone that said "Rincewind, finally!" on it? Can't remember which game it was.

I've never read anything of Prachett, nor heard of the guy

Gosh, you really missed out on something there.

I'm actually thinking about reading some of his books. And I just realized that he co-authored "Good Omens" with Neil Gaiman, which I have read.

Waily waily waily!

Of course there should be references. Discworld is awesomesauce. I thoroughly enjoyed the movies, too.

I'm all in favor, and must say that it is several years since I've played Oblivion without the luggage on its many, little legs following when I call it.

I dont understand why there SHOULD be a Terry Pratchett reference....especially based solely on the fact you like him.

Not that most people here could handle the game, no flashy DX11 graphics with every possible action animated in. Come to think, forget I even mentioned it.

Technically, there's Falcon's Eye and Vulture's Claw. Most nethack players would consider those blasphemy though, and you can't play either over a network. The harsh cost of "innovation". ;)

I'd like to see a wizard confused about potatoes and women. Maybe you help him figure out his dilemma in a quest? Failing that, a skeleton with diamond teeth, or a chest that follows you around.

If you ever play Morrowind:

Hmm. It's true that the setting is pretty close - wizards, city guards or heroes. And it'd be meant as an easter egg, so there wouldn't be lore conflicts.

On the whole, maybe it wouldn't hurt TES. If I ever regretted something with the series, it's the lack of distance toward the whole epic hero thing. Worked for Morrowind, insofar the feel was alien enough to tune it out, and since you spent enough time being a n'wah anyway ; Oblivion, now... *shrug* :P I got amused, the same way I couldn't watch LOTR without cracking jokes every five seconds. Sooooo serious. My chars end up having some major coordination/orientation issues : how the hell can I take all these doom and prophecies things with a straight face ?

Yeah, I get I'm prolly alone thinking so. Maybe a Skyrim equivalent of the Patrician, then ? I sure would enjoy that kind of politics.

I love the idea. He's a great author and if he likes the game,a subtle "we like that you like our game is awesome.

Reaper man reference ftw

I think it would be very neat if there was a Terry Pratchett easter egg in the game, especially considering he http://www.computerandvideogames.com/143656/interviews/terry-pratchett/. http://theauthorhour.com/terry-pratchett/extras.php?autoplay=y.

Not a particular hard thing to do either, I mean, Morrowind was http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Easter_Eggs, even Indiana Jones was in there, among other things.

Love Terry Pratchett, but no, it would break the suspension of disbelief in Skyrim for me.

What I'd like to see instead it's a game (rpg/immersive simulation Elder Scrolls style) with his books as setting, but I have no desire to play as the protagonists or constantly meet them, or follow their footsteps playing their stories. It's the same for Star Wars, it's a great setting but I don't want to play as Luke Skywalker.

Where is my cow?
Is that my cow?
It goes: Roarrgh!
It is a dragon.
That is not my cow.

Why? It's an easter egg. They are supposed to be funny. If a Lord of the Rings egg can be there I don't see why there couldn't be a Discworld one.
