TES After Skyrim

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:10 pm

Does anyone know or have any ideas if Bethesda will be making another game after Skyrim or some other content? I'm just wondering, although Skyrim may be the way to go out with a bang I really don't want to see TES end. Though I'd rather it not become something like Final Fantasy.

Do you expect perhaps a new game in one of the other provinces or perhaps re-explore a previous one?

Game studios don't generally like to slaughter the chicken with the golden eggs.

I want them to make another Fallout, then do ES:VI.

I would say the Black Marsh or Orsimer

@Umrahel: What about Mario, and Zelda, and FF, and Sonic, and Metroid, and Halo? Oh wait, they all got cheapened by too many games, not by the creators stopping too soon :P

Fallout IV...they need to take a break from ES...or their ideas will start to get stale.

I concur, Black Marsh would be very cool. Perhaps coupled with a dark and twisted story line with twisted witches. Mehehehe

Couldn't have put it better myself.
But in my own words, look at GTA there's been 6 (only counting those on PS2 & PS3 and not counting GTA IV dlc)
And that franchise is still going strong so ; no they shoiuld keep making them aslong as they don't keep the number for all of them and do like fallout where it's 1,2,3 , NV you know what I'm sayin'?

Black Marsh can be difficult due to the poisonous swamp gasses that are lethal to non-argonians.

I dont think Bethesda could resist the temptation to do another TES game once a new generation console comes out.

I'd rather them have 2 large expansions for skyrim, then in the future come out with an elder scrolls that uses all of Tamriel with the next next gem graphics. Too much? Lol...

I'm worried there won't be another Elder Scrolls game. Because supposedly all of the past games led up to the return of the dragons in this game.

I'm sure there are ways around that though. Perhaps the main character is born with immunity to the gases, or perhaps breathes it. =P In any case, more content on Black Marsh would be awesome, whether a game or a book.

That could be debated on the Halo part. As far as I'm concerned the main - not counting odst and the RTS - only got better as they went on. With Reach combining the best of them all.

As for Elder Scrolls I really, really, doubt Bethesda would just stop with Skyrim. There are still many provinces we haven't explored in all their glory and countless stories that could be told. Hell, 8 out 11 GTA games all take place in Liberty City. So, I doubt they would even stop after we've visited all the provinces in full games. -assuming we do.-

And the return of the dragons bring upon ____, then _____ brings upon _____, then that causes _______.

Maybe we will finally see a continuation of the Elder Scrolls Adventures games. Bethesda could stand to make a linear RPG now and again for a fresh perspective.

Edit: @Outlander: Merely my opinion. I loved Halo 1 and 2, as well as Reach. But I thought H3 and ODST, not to mention the RTS that was made were completely terrible.

I also believe they will continue. Whether that be as new technology comes out or not. TES is legendary and loved so much by the people. I don't think Bethesda is planning on letting this be the last you see of TES.

Yes, I know it was featured in Daggefall and partly in Redguard, but come on! It's the most amazing place on Tamriel ;)

Oh and if I have to choose between Black Marsh/Argonia and the Summerset Isles for TES:VI (since many think it'll be one or the other), then Summerset for sure.

Did the Altmer invade Valenwood? I thought I read something about that.
combining Summerset Isle with Valenwood, might be kind of cool for the next setting.

Part of the awe of TES games are the open-end sandbox style play. A linear RPG (Or similar to Redguard/Battlespire) wouldn't be the cash crop that TES franchise is used to. Hammerfall will be the next, Jus' sayin'.

well not really if anything i'd say a war against the Akaviri will be more likely a finisher more than dragons.. i mean they invaded 3 or more times and the empire invaded them at least once.. so a war against the beast people would be like a big finisher

but more importantly, isn't it too early to worry about this 5 years ago they released oblivion and in 9 months they will release skyrim (sort of like a pregnant woman with all this talking about it).. so we will have to wait at least several years before they let us know anything about it, but i dont think will stop, they mave built several mythologies within the TES system and almost infinite avenues they can go down with a new game

I actually have to disappoint you all, but upon closer examination (thanks!) it looks like we have a thread about anything TES beyond Skyrim. So, why don't we continue this discussion over there. Thanks. :)
