is there anyway to make TES Arena brighter because at night i cant see anything! i can only see windows cus there is light coming from them. Like even in the imperial dungeons i saw better. I just got out of there by the way, and am slowly trying to make my way west into this town, but ince i cant see anything at all i keep falling into water! i just got attacked by a monster and did't even see him until it was to late!
TOO DARK!

ALSO READ THIS!!!!-I am a Mage, and my race is Breton. I use magiks!! while in the dungeon i was playing it carefull and that spirit lady contacted me and gave me some staff. I pressed 'U' to use it but nothing happened, so i clicked on that holding button under the 'pilfering' button and still, nothing happened. How do i equip items?

Turn up your gamma or get a light area spell. Thats how the world gets brigher. You don't recieve the staff, its just an image of what you're suppose to GET! Go into your inventory (click your portrait and click next) and click on your item that you want to equip. The lower your AC the better.

You have to do it within your monitor, I don't believe that Arena has a function to adjust the gamma ingame. Though, I want to say it is the -/+ keys on the number pad. But I can't confirm.

the +/- thing never worked. and how would i ajust my gamma on the moniter?

I have had the same crappy pentium III for 8 years(finnally getting new pc soon!!) so the moniter aswell is quite old. the only brightness things in it is 'brightness' and 'contrast' no menus...

RANDOM QUESTION: how do i open doors!?!

RANDOM QUESTION #2: How many years are in an Era? 1000? 500? how many!!

+/- speeds/slows your game, nothing more.

Consult your monitor manual. But it won't do you any good w.r.t. Arena. It's dark because it's dark. I would suggest you find the city walls, exit the city, and rest until 0600. After a while of walking around in the daytime you'll learn to identify inns so you can safely walk the streets at night.

That's what he's talking about, use those.

Put your cursor on the door and left-click.

An "era" is not like a century. It's an arbitrarily defined period of time, like the Cenozoic Era.

well thats the problem, i cant get very far into the city becus there are goblins rats and imperials guards about the place that attack me. I think the city is called 'Glenpoint' or something, just outside the imperial dungeons.

Ever notice how rats do more damage to you then the goblins seem to do?

and i tried left clickign on doors but they did not open, or did bethesda put more programming into the game then i thought in that u cant open doors past certain times?

You're running around a city after dark. The doors to all buildings except taverns are locked (not that the regular houses are ever unlocked). Find a tavern, pay for a room and rest until the sun rises ;)
Taverns have a sign with a nice mug of beer on it.

I got the gamma controls with Battlespire and the speed controls with Arena confused. How utterly nerdy of me. ;D
