Here is an example of the art for those who don't know or remember what I'm talking about: http://www.pcgames.de/screenshots/original/2007/09/tes_arena_pcgames001.jpg or more like http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/5/564545_53892_front.jpg but without the CDrom crap and without "The Elder Scrolls" banner - though it would be fun to have something like "The Imperial City" replacing TES so that it would say something like...
"--The Imperial City--"
"ARENA"
I mean - the original concept for TES Arena was a fighting game where you would travel to different Arenas throughout Tamriel and fight different opponents from Elsweyr, Morrowind, Black Marsh, etc. How fitting would it be to include an homage to this origin in TES IV where we finally have a functional arena to fight in?
And I suspect some kind soul will compulsively point out some obscure legalese about using art from other games and media but if for some godforsaken reason, it isn't possible to use the original TES Arena box art(which I can't imagine why since I have seen in-game tapestry/poster conversions from everything from morrowind to porm), then what about a detailed recreation of it using original art or Oblivion resources (weapon, clothing, armor mods and pose packs)? The mod community should have the required weapons, armor, poses, etc. to do this, right?
Even if the stuff wasn't perfect, it could be pretty close. I think I even vaguely recall someone making a female armor set similar to the one in the Arena box art...
So anyone interested in this? Think it can be done well enough to be worth it? Has it already been done and I just haven't seen it? :ninja:
As someone will probably point out, I could do this myself, but I can't promise it will be very quality work, after all I only have MS paint, sadly and am more of a musical artist than a visual one, and I don't even know where to begin converting to the in-game poster... so hopefully there is some talented Screenshot artist out there with a parchment filter for Photoshop who might be interested in doing this... I don't have any fishysticks on me, but I could muster up some :icecream: or a perhaps a :cookie:
So any Takers? Ideas? Comments?
