TES ...........card game?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:03 am

How about an Elder Scrolls card game? Not as a direct opponent to Magic: The Gathering, as they're both very different, but I was just thinking it'd be cool to see Skyrim and TES in card form. Thoughts?

The setting is a viable candidate for a card game. Whether I would be interested depends on the gameplay of the card game itself.

Or... you could just play Magic. I don't think TES varies enough from standard Fantasy to warrant having a card-game variant similar to Magic. It would be a little TOO similar.

I tried getting back into MTG, but the local players were all morbidly obese and made fun of me the entire time....

However the new Innistrad set is epic looking....

Well I feel sorry for you that your local MTG community is so miserable. I'm fortunate enough to live in an area with a great community. And yes, Innistrad is very good in fact, my signature at this point happens to be my favorite card from the set.

I think so, the artwork is a lot cooler in my opinion and I prefer a tribal-heavy format to an artifact/equiptment-heavy one. Innistrad has some of the best flavor in years and it finally allows for a Human Tribal deck.

Would be the most epic game ever made, at least strategy wise.

I played magic the gathering like 10 years ago. Other than artifact and equipment, this post means nothing to me. Tribal? Human (I figure you're referring to White, but you didn't just reference it as such, so that confuses me)?

I know what you mean. I don't care how poor of a strategy Booster packs are, I just love getting them. It's like a lottery. It's addictive.

Tribal is creature type more or less, a Tribal deck focuses on effects that pertain to and boost that type. (Human, Vampire, Werewolf, Zombie, Elf, Spirit etc...) And humans come in all colors and they have since the beginning of magic so I'm not sure why that is confusing.

Well, yeah, but humans have typically from my experience only been suitable for deck building for white. Sure, other colors had some strong cards that were human type, but not enough rank and file types to build a deck with them, at least when I played. I was never really a competitive player though so... your experience may have varied.
