Fall of an Empire
*This roleplay takes place after the events of TESV: Skyrim, during the so-called 'Second Great War'.
Background
The Dragonborn has successfully defeated Alduin, ending the dragon menace in Skyrim. Emperor Titus Mede II makes his way to Skyrim to check up on recent events such as the Civil War, and the Dragonborn. Unfortunately, on his visit to Skyrim he is assassinated by the Dark Brotherhood. In Skyrim, the Imperials lose moral, but in Cyrodiil, an Empire loses an Emperor.
When word of Titus' death reaches Cyrodiil, many officials attempt to claim the throne for themselves, but none succeed in doing so. These officials soon 'rebel' against the Empire, seceding large parts of Cyrodiil and forming their own city-states around the region. Months pass, and the Empire realizes it can no longer support its remaining Legions. Some begin to question whether the Empire still exists, as it only maintains control over Chorrol and the Imperial City.
Weakened, exhausted, and broke, the Empire disbands a large majority of the Legions. A few Legions are recalled back to the Imperial City to help defend against any possible threats. General Tullius and his Legion are recalled from Skyrim, resulting in a Stormcloak victory and putting Ulfric into position as High King. The Third Legion remains outside of the Imperial City, garrisoned within the city of Chorrol.
The Aldmeri Dominion take this ripe opportunity and invade southern Cyrodiil. Anvil, Kvatch, Skingrad, Bravil, and Leyawiin all fall to the Thalmor armies. The attacks are simultaneous, all occuring on the same night, and are collectively known as the 'Moonlight Invasion'. The Second Great War has officially began.
General Romentus Aquillius of the Third Legion, garrisoned within Chorrol, will try to lead his Legion around Cyrodiil in an attempt to restore the Empire to its former glory.
Characters
Characters are custom. You can be part of the Legion, any guild, any race, any background, any purpose. Regardless of your choices, you will be accompanying General Romentus Aquillius and the Third Legion around Cyrodiil, participating in battles, travels, etc. As the RP goes on, our characters will become stronger, experienced, and more powerful.

History: Romentus was born to an Imperial father and mother in Kvatch. His mother was a merchant, and his father an Imperial Legionnaire. He was taught how to fight at a young age, and also enrolled in an Imperial Military Academy. After graduating, Romentus was skilled in the art of warfare and melee combat. He enlisted in the Imperial Legion where he fought alongside his father during the Great War. Romentus' father was killed in the war. After the war, Romentus was promoted and became General of the Third Legion, garrisoned in Chorrol. Romentus' leadership and determination kept the Chorrol citizens from seceding from the Empire, and he has maintained control of it thus far. Due to the recent attack on Kvatch, it is assumed Romentus' mother was killed in the Kvatch raid. Romentus has vowed to lead his Legion across Cyrodiil and restore the Empire to its former glory.
