TES or Fallout?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:16 pm

which is the better game series?

F3/NV were fun for 3 months...

but MW/Oblivion combined have given me well over 1000 hours over 5 years.

So TES for me.

Both in-general and especially in the CD, there are more TES fans on here than there are FO fans. We've had more years to accumulate here.

I came for TES, but stayed for Fallout.

I'm not even going to try to compare the two, I love both series, but agree that people have had more time to get used to TES than Fallout. Also, Fallout just isn't for some people. I work with a couple people that love TES, but can't stand Fallout, They say it's because they can't get into all the death and destruction of a post nuclear world. one just says that he can't stand VATS, so he won't play it.

Fallout. I played oblivion, wasnt to fussy, nice big world, but so bland and all the same. Then I heared they were making a game called fallout 3, and looked at some gameplay, caught my interest. Loved 3, so came here.
Hopefully Skyrim will be better. Sounds like it will be.

TES for pretty much the same reason as the OP. However, to Fallouts defense, it gave me a good years worth of fun. And it's a lot more popular among people of my age group, meaning there's more people to discuss it with, and share the joy. TES is more of a solo thing for me. I only have 1 friend in real life that plays it. Everyone else is here on BGSF.

Fallout for me. I have played all of the Fallout games (excluding that one) and every main TES game except Morrowind and all of the latter just didn't impress me as much as the Fallout games. Maybe it's because I'm just not a "fantasy" person in general and I like games with unusual settings (RDR, L.A. Noire, Deus Ex, etc). I'm also big into the 30's-50's and science fiction so I guess Fallout was kind of made for me

Fallout for me. Even though there is not much distinction between the franchises (gameplaywise) anymore, I like the Fallout setting more (and I've been a Fallout fan since the series began, but never been nearly as much a TES fan).

I love Fallout, but TES is the best series of games I have ever played. So yes, I voted for TES.

TES.Looking at each series pat two installments(the ones I have played the most of) MW I had trouble getting into at first but it provided me with plenty of enjoyable time. Then Oblivion, well thats my favorite game of all time.FO3 was great and it probaly number 3 on my list but TES is just so much more in depth.FNV is fun but its tough for me too set an RP that last very long in it.

Well soon, one'll just be fantasy, one'll be post-apocalyptic. We're getting perks in Skyrim, so... But... TES, I came for Fallout, stayed for TES.

Came for Fallout 3 and stayed because of community discussion. But I prefer TES though.

I started with TES. I love both series starting with Fallout 3. As you, I have played 100s of hours of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, BUT I played almost a 1000 hours with all TES combined. I don't know why, but Fallout 3 and NV doesn't have the replayability as Daggerfall, Morrowind or Oblivion had. Hopefully Skyrim will have the playability since maybe become Fallout with Magic. I hope that is not the case.

Hard to say. I think FO absorbed more of my time, especially in the earlier days. I voted FO, since I like its theme better. Everything looks so '50s, it's much grittier, more mature and it's about something that could actually happen to our world, so it makes you think about the nuclear age we're living in. The age of radical dogmatic reason and technocracy as the summum of irrationality. It's true that "war never changes" (you've got to love Ron Perlman) and this dark humour and moral greyness do it for me.

I voted TES, but its really hard for me to say. I was quite a bit younger when I was playing TES a lot (13-16) and that gave me a lot of great times. I didn't play fallout as much but I was also just finishing grade 12 and now that I'm in university I rarely play games anymore. Don't get me wrong, they seem like quality games but I just don't have time and I'm not as intersted in gaming. Maybe when Skyrim comes out I can make a final decision.

TES. Had you made this poll last fall, my answer would have been different.

I came for Fallout but the (imo) disappointment that was NV has nearly killed my love for the game. 11/11/11 cannot get here fast enough for me.

I view Fallout 1 and 2....and New Vegas as some of the best RPGs ever made. I never thought a newer RPG could make it into the list, but it did (along with The Witcher).

However, Daggerfall and Morrowind are two of my favourite games too, although not my favourite RPGs because I don't think the Elder Scrolls is strong in the RPG department, but I still love the series.

I can't really choose between them.
