I didn't until now. I will look at your roster. I am thinking I don't want to trade Phillips but I will really try and take a serious look at your roster today.

I had to watch your behind for an entire season last year :).

Well, I didn't have to watch it in the playoffs, but leading throughout the regular season (by a ton) is more impressive in my opinion.

I was pretty lucky last year, all of my players did at least what they were expected to do or better. This season is a much different story.

Oh man I'm up against ratwar this week. I don't stand a chance.

Muh hahaha!

Seriously though, half my offense has nagging injuries, so I'm actually pretty beatable right now.

Did anyone else hear about Griffey?I feel bad for him, he has such a great legacy and it seems like after the injury he just lost popularity.I really don't like how two teammates sold him out to the Tribune either. It should of never left the clubhouse. In fact I just get sad when I think about what could of been with Griffey.I think he would be the HR career champ over that joke Bonds.

Still think he has one of the craziest swings ever, and I agree the news should have never left the team, it's pretty bad when your teammates can't keep their mouths shut.

I sleep when the Mariners are at bat as well, so I can't hate on Griffey. Haha. Seriously though, he could've easily been woken up, and his 'teammates' shouldn't have sold him out.

The manager and Griff say it's not true, and Griff even went as far as to challenge whoever wrote the story to come talk to him. I don't know what to believe. All of this is terrible because he's playing so poorly. If he was hitting 300+ with a bunch of home runs, we all would be laughing this off.

I don't really care about the whole sleeping thing. The guy can't hit for beans anymore, so why would they ever use him as a pinch hitter? Mariano Rivera does the same thing when he knows he won't be playing.

That was one of the saddest days in my life when I heard he was traded.I was 8 and still loved baseball and everything about it.I can honestly say I have never admired any pro sports player as much as him.

Well my own offense has been pretty bad so far, so maybe if I can turn it around this week I'll win.

Most of my starters pitched twice last week though, so they won't be a factor until later in the week.

And as I'm typing this, Berkman (who I've benched) hit a homer for the Astros. Hope we get a couple more runs because I don't want Lindstrom getting a save! :P

Honestly, if I was a younger player on the Mariners, I'd sell Griffey out. Every AB he takes not only hurts the team, but it also potentially hurts my future pay. The Mariners were stupid to sign him; you don't win your division on over the hill 'clubhouse leaders'.

But you make money off ticket sales, jersey sales, and promotional days featuring them.

It wasn't just the injuries, at least for me. He made the Mariners trade him and then screwed them even more by insisting they trade him to the Reds. Once the M's were bent over like that there was no way they could get equal value. I loved Griffey until then, I lost a lot of respect for him then, the injuries didn't cause me to lose any popularity per se, he just became irrelevant.

You can also make money by winning games. If your relying on names to fill the seats, you're not very good.

It's a hell of a lot easier to throw money at an over the hill star than it is to put a winning ball club on the field.

Oh sure, but that doesn't mean I have to respect the Mariners for doing it.

Well you gotta admit, they have also been trying to go after players that will help them too. Trading for Cliff Lee was a gutsy move to win now, and they signed some players that *should* be helping them win right now. They just haven't performed. A lot of the people on ESPN and all that picked the Mariners to win their division before the season, so it's not all bad.

Yeah, but they're trying to do it both ways. You can't have Griffey as a DH and expect it to turn out well. Just like you can't sign Bradley and expect it to turn out well. If you're going to compete, you need to make moves that improve the team, and neither of those did.

The Mariners needed a left handed bat, in that respect the Griffey signing wasn't a bad signing. The fact that he has been their best option at DH is a problem, but you can't really blame Griffey for that.

EDIT: I just noticed you mentioned Bradley too. That signing was a little iffy, but I don't think there was much risk to the signing if he didn't work out.
