TES for DS and/or PSP

There, that's what a TES for DS would look like.

What I thought of for controls:

D-Pad - Forward, backward, side to side
Touch screen - Look/Navigate menus
L - Attack with your selected weapon
B - Use
Y - Cast Spell
A - Sneak Toggle
X - Open hotkey menu. Touch-select.
Start - Pause the game and let you navigate all the menus
Select - Main Menu

Daggerfall graphics, or maybe better if it's a smaller game, but an interface not much different from Morrowinds.
What do you think?

Well actually Bethesda could do what most other game makers have down to put their games onto psp/ds. Tone done the graphics. Look at Battlefront 2 for example. So it might work.

The Dark Hart :)

good point just reduce the polygon count and it could be pulled off

Even though Microsoft don't have a handheld console like the PSP, they're still competitors to Sony. I would bet everything I have that it's not going to be on either the PSP or DS.

I think that arena, daggerfall or redgaurd would be fun on DS.

You are a genius. An absolute genius. Daggerfall on the DS.... :o

I think I'm becoming a fan boy. ;)

I think DS would be more useful for a more complex TES game such as daggerfall which doesnt need high polygon models. For example with the DS you could select dialog options, manage inventory, maps and spells, drop items with accuracy, maby even a system when you can draw pattens on the touchscreen to create spells.

PSP would be more suited to a graphically stunning but cut-down type of game. For example simpler dialog options and more streamlined gameplay.

What would be better? Well PSP would obviously look and feel better to the average player. But with the DS you have a much bigger audience, and much less piracy, compared to the drasically cut down development costs from not having to pay for complex modelling. I would personally prefer this being the type of person who likes challenging and complicated games instead of graphics ^^

I think the psp would be much better yes it will have liomited use of buttons and crap but just because its harder to control it means that the psp would be worse i say no u guys arenth thinking big think the psp has umd much more data can be stored there whitch makes a rpg an rpg u cant have an rpg that has klike 3 towns and not much of cool looking spells yes the ds would be good for it but also u would problly have crapy music crapy graghics and u wont have much of an adventure cun of the limited space on a cartridge look at liberty stories for psp as an example think of that game set back im medieval times sooooo much land to discover tombs and so many items they can put in the game i think if they made it for ds it will be limited in so many aspects i think psp will blow it away

Ok, for psp, all you have to do is look at King Kong( a great FPS on PSP), and GTA. like he said. PSP would blow DS out of the water, as you can see with that stunning DS picture made by Captian, PSP could look almost identacle to morrowind. and think of how every object in the game is in fact, an object, pick-up able. on psp you could actually see a spoon on a table, and it would look like, a spoon on a table. but on a ds? well... i don't know... (and don't just think i'm against ds, i used to have one, and i'm getting a new one soon, i just think The PSP is much better for The Elder Scrolls.

They should infact make both a Ds and PSP elder scrolls. i'm just saying that the PSP game would be better.

So this is my conclusion.

The Ds Game would look closer to this: DS

or mabe even this, http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b320/Captain567/TES_DS.jpg.....hehe..

And PSP, closer to this: PSP

psp probably couldnt handle morrowind, it wouldnt even be close, plus itd have a much lower resoltuion. THe DS would look better than shadowkey. And neither have the ram for that many pickuppable objects

As much as i would like to see TES on the psp or ds i dont think either of them could handle anything close to what the larger systems can...

I have a ds and a psp.

A dummed down version of morrowind for the psp would be great (or an upgraded version of darrerfall)

A version of daggerfall for the ds would be great.

the only thing i would hate would be if the ran slowly.

There was already a thread about it a while ago. I'm pretty sure that rumor's been debunked since it first started spreading across the internet though, so making a thread about it now wouldn't be a very good idea.

I think that the PSP has better graphics and can probably handle alot, but the DS has the Dual Screen, so you could play on the bottom screen and have some menu of your choice on the top, (such as map, quest, inventory) and on the bottom, the weapon should follow the screen, so the battle system would be more real. That way, with the Touch Screen, you could do different slash/bash/hand to hand techniques. You could also assign spells to symbols, so when you draw the symbol on the touch screen, your player could cast it. And as for the bow, you could control the power of the arrow by drawing it back to an amount that you want.

The touch screen would be perfect for Daggerfall!!

In Daggerfall, you had to swing the mouse across the screen, get it?

the DS has a touch screen which has proven a very effeiciant way of controlling FPS'.

I think it be perfect for the DS. The DS has the touch screen which can be used in inventory management and things. The PSP, although yes it does have a control stick, the computers don't really, either. You could use a button to switch between run and walk. It could go either way, really. The DS seems suited for the game, but the PSP has the right aspect ratio (I believe). The final choice comes down to the user.

Granet the PSP has a Joystick and better graphics but the whole touch screen thing is alot butter to play games on i would really like to accutly slash or swing my sword with a touch of a screen

What's with the whole "it would be true to the original games" thing? There's no touchscreen in DOS or Windows.

Do you people seriously like the idea of having to play an FPS with a stylus, or the crappy DS equivalent of one? Good Lord that would svck!

The PSP has better graphics.

Just thought I'd down size that for you! ;)

I personally would like to see a TES game on the DS, over the PSP.

Why? Well first off, there's a lot more to an RPG than graphics. Sure the PSP's graphics are better, but the DS is functional, especially for a Daggerfall style game.

Secondly, there's a lot of scope for the "crappy" stylus in RPG's. If you ever played daggerfall you'll realise how the combat system would work extremely well with a touch screen.

Thirdly - There's not enough buttons on the PSP. With the DS you get the whole lower screen for the inventory and/or commands.

You can easily use a touchscreen for Windows, and possibly for DOS if you knew what you were doing setting it up. Either way, it's about as close as you can get to a mouse on a handheld gaming system.

It's not a "crappy equivalent" of a stylus. It is a stylus.

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/920760.asp. Besides which the TES games aren't FPSs. The first one and, on default settings, the second one don't even play anything like FPSs.

The PSP has better graphics.

Which doesn't really have a whole lot to do with whether or not it'd be a good system to release a TES game on. It doesn't matter how good the graphics are if the game would control terribly (which, given the system's lack of any sort of anolog control or even right-side D-pad for look controls, it probably would).

I own both the DS and the PSP and to be honest, I think the PSP would be better fitted for it, only because the touch screen seems like it would be wierd for such a game like oblivion

It could work on the PSP... Maybe not on the DS (lack of control stick.)

I'd like to see maybe Daggerfall or something released for PSP.

daggerfall would never happen, reason is because of the dang esrb, things in daggerfall would earn at least a m rating. as for oblivion on psp, i might buy a psp just for oblivion.
