Ok ill rephrase that and say to this day no game on the console has as big a world as oblivion and the graphics to match as well on the consoles no denying that.

Graphically, Oblivion can be seen as inferior to a bunch of the games Rhekarid posted. I know very well that Far Cry 2 looks a lot better, and is larger than what was shown in Cyrodiil

Again, Just Cause 2.

And GTA 4.

And all of the ones in Rhekarid's post.

Gta does not look better than oblivion and as for far cry it doesn't offer the same freedom. So again let me rephrase to this day no game on the console offers a world the size of oblivion with the graphics and the freedom to match no denying that.

GTA 4 looks a lot better than Oblivion.

EDIT: Oh, Guild Wars: Nightfall is MUCH bigger, has just as good graphics, and a ton of freedom. So it still can be denied.

Now you're splitting hairs, and I am going to have to agree with Nextmastermind, GTA4 looks a lot nicer, especially on the PS3, than Oblivion on my PC, which plays it on insane graphic settings.

Guild wars is on the console? Hmmm never knew...

And I've played a ton of gta and oblivion on the ps3 and I personally think oblivion looks better could be just that one takes places in a city so the scenery is a lot nicer is oblivion to me.

So I'll rephrase to this day no game on the console offers a world the size of oblivion with the graphics and the freedom to match no denying that.

But still GTA 4 can compare considerably, and the graphics can be considered better, depending on who you ask.

Who's talking about consoles? Well, if we must split hairs even further:

Who's talking about consoles? Well considering I was basing my opinion on the fact that no game on the CONSOLE matches oblivion in world size, graphics, and freedom then that would be me talking about the console then you mentioned guild wars and I was confused.

And GTA 4.

Nope. GTA 4 is smaller than GTA San Andreas, which is smaller than Cyrodiil.

But game size does not make game quality. For the people who are constantly citing Just Cause 2, I think it does not compare to Oblivion at all, no matter how big the game world is.

I don't remember you mentioning consoles until the post I quoted just a few moments ago. EDIT: I see you did mention consoles before that. My apologies.

There's still Just Cause 2. Which, if you ask me, has a ton of freedom like OB. And then there's a lot of these games http://www.geekosystem.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Large-Video-Game-Worlds.jpg

Define "freedom." Most of what you can do on the world map in Oblivion is running around and fighting things. Any of those other games can provide that.

A lot of games can still beat Oblivion on the consoles, with graphics, and with comparable freedom.

EDIT: And read my edit on my last post.

What? You said that JC2 lacked freedom (which it really doesn't) and he said that GTA 4 had a small world. Those sound like two different pages, if you ask me.

Indeed. We should get back on topic. Shadow, let's just stop the nonsensical comparisons, and get back on to the topic.

I said jc2 lacked the freedom that oblivion offers it just doesn't match it no denying that.

Gta and just cause 2 don't come close at all to matching oblivion in sheer number of npcs, items, places to see and so on...I mean you could spend hours just walkin cyrodiil pickin ingrediants and messin with alchemy give me a break...what gta has a handful of different weapons and clothing options compared to oblivion as well no denying that.

It seems we have different opinions. For the record, I hate Just Cause 2 and GTA 4 :P

Now, let's get back on topic, shall we?

It seems we have different opinions. You won't change my opinions about JC2 and GTA4, and I won't change yours about Oblivion. In my opinion, Oblivion was greatly lacking in freedom, especially when compared to Daggerfall or Morrowind. Just please stop dressing your opinion up as a fact. ("No denying that" When there is. It's all opinionated. The fact is there are console games with bigger landmasses. The freedom thing is 100% opinionated) (And for the record, I hate Just Cause 2 and GTA 4)

Now, let's get back on topic, shall we?

There's not much to do in gta 4 besides the main missions compared to san andreas 4 was so gimped its disheartning. San andreas is one of my favorite games of all time and the land mass AND optional stuff were both greater than gta 4 but yes we can get back on topic now.

I agree. Like I said, I can't stand GTA 4.

But yes, let's get back on topic.

I've pretty much hit my limit already. I don't even stop by these forums much anymore because the topics are redundant. If Bethesda waits much longer with TES:V and don't give a tentative date and maybe a few screenshots by the end of the year, the game will start entering Duke Nuk'em Forever territory IMO.

It's not exactly rocket science. I'm sure they have enough set in stone already that they could give a title and a few random screens [A landscape or two, a shot of a town and an interior or two] and I could live all giddy with anticipation for a year or so. I don't need to know plot or anything. An ETA would be nice, but I wouldn't need that right away either.

At least we could then rid ourselves of those annoying and repetitive "Where do you want ES:V to be" threads.

I can wait. Since Beth is very good at keeping silence it would not surprise me to see the TES5 gone gold anouncement tomorrow and the box in the shelfs the day after.
