Just be sure to read http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morrowind_for_Oblivion_Players, if you haven't already!

EDIT: Wrong URL; how embarrassing. Fix'd now.

Sixth house bases were quite spooky. The fact that it seemed that there werent many enemies inside them made the place even more spooky

Very true. Sometimes just having a place being so empty is the scary part.

mud crabs are so scary! I voted that but I think creepy cultists are but nothing was really ever scary in TES it would be cool if in five they added something scary.

Hard to say because it depends on who I'm playing. For example, my Atronach loves wraiths, but my other chars don't like 'em at all.

I think the question is directed to the player, not the character ;)

My first character was out running around in the swamps and attracted a pair of cliffracers, I couldn't manage to kill them and just barely escaped into a little door on a cave. Now instead of cliffracers, I had creepy music and sounds coming from down the stairs. I went back outside and the cliffracers were still there, so decided I would have to try my hand at the tomb. I go down the stairs and open the door, to have a bonewalker maul me.

I didnt find Sixth House areas nor Ancestral Tombs scary, although I love their atmosphere, especially the "whispering" heard in tombs.

But the werewolves in Bloodmoon is something else, I dont know why but they are the only thing that creep me out. I recently entered a tomb in Solstheim and heard the howling of a Raving Lunatic turning into one and I actually considered leaving.

Well the first time i got scared was entering a tomb of some sort, hearing the whispering and other noises that came from the depths (this was my friend and i playing when were probably 11) and as we walked down there, and opened a door, a bonewalker appeared, and scared the crap out of both of us. but nowadays nothing really scares me so much as surprises me, which i guess is to the same effect. although like many i must admit walking through sixth house bases just gave me the chills.

Am I the only one who was scared of the Dwemer ruins ? They aren't even in the polls.

All those background machine noises always creep me out.

For me, playing in headphones turned up nice and loud, and being surprised by a 'poison dart trap' FWUP FWUP FWUP FWUP FWUP FWUP FWUP FWUP FWUP! That got me to jump out of my skin on more than one occassion, particularly with low-level characters under OOO where that trap could be fatal before you can react if you stumble into it.

Wraiths (again, especially under OOO) can be frightening too, hard to kill, sudden to attack, and a whole party platter of nasty debuffs with "Silence of the Grave" and "Wraith's Curse".

Inside the Sixth House buildings really got me good when I didn't have anything to light my way then opening a door and they appear in front and behind you without notice.

I've played Morrowind and Oblivion, and the scariest part out of either of those two games was the Dark Brotherhood questline. That was horror.

For me, the sixth house bases mostly. I just started playing morrowind again with a new char, but even now after so many years, I still try to avoid sixth house bases as much as possible.

I still remember this time when I was in Vivec, lost as usual, trying to find a place to sleep I eventually found a bedroll somewhere in a dark, quiet place. My sleep was interrupted and I got a message like "You were awaken by a loud noise" or something, and the combat music started playing. I was like ... "Should I press OK or not?". I was scared as hell and my heart was pounding strongly. I turned on all the lights then proceeded to press OK. I look around only to find a faceless figure (An ash zombie) standing on a barrel and bashing my face. My heart almost came out of my throat that day :P. That was years ago though, things like this don't scare me anymore.

As for Oblivion, meeting zombies for the first time was a disturbing experience. And I agree, the anvil lighthouse cellar was creepy.

The most terrifying enemies in TES are the weak, little nuisances that you never notice until they're nipping at your heels. Rats and mudcrabs, mostly.
