TES horror

The most terrifying enemies in TES are the weak, little nuisances that you never notice until they're nipping at your heels. Rats and mudcrabs, mostly.

never underestimate the abuility of 7 mudcrabs attacking you at the same time. at first your like yeah this is a great way to increase my light armor skill and you decide ok i can go pee and still be alive and them come back to a dead worthless bosmer all dead and naked...but not castrated

VEAAAAANGAAAANCE!!!, sixth house bases, zombies and rats.

I waited one night for a shop to open the next day and suddenly was attacked by a ghost that none of my weapons had any effect on. He proceded to kill me in one blow.

Sixth house bases because you don't know what's around the corner.

Zombies because they always creep up behind you.

Rats (only in daggerfall) because they just came out of nowhere...

Skinned Hounds scared me quite a bit. They're just far too big and far too fast, so if I'm not sneaking, before I know it I'm being mauled by one of them.

The Elder Scrolls has never been scary.

There was one scene in "Bloodmoon" that was a bit intimidating, though.
Spoiler
When the player goes to sleep after Secunda turns red, you wake up surrounded by werewolves, who grab you and take you off to Hircine's base. It's the only part of any of the plots in the series where the player is truely helpless, and it's glorious for its unexpectedness.

1. Dunmeri Ancestral Tombs- These things have always given me that creepy feeling that there's something directly behind you, and that feeling multiplies when one stands over an ash circle and those voices come circling around you in Stereophonic horror.

Good one. Me too.

The corprus beasts freaked me out, especially the ones with deformed faces, but VENGEANCE still makes me jump every time I hear it. I NEVER go into Daggerfall after dark unless I travel there recklessly by mistake. I think it's because the volume of that particular sound file is pitched so much higher than the rest of the effects, it really comes screaming out at you.

Play Morrowind and find out. :)
What the Sixth House is is an integral part of that game's plot.

Have no idea why but that sure did send a shiver up my spine - especially the 2nd time he said it.

Bonewalkers. They're not too frightening, though they are kind of scary. I just know that my strength is going to be dropped down drastically when I encounter one of these things, forcing me to drop important items. Which is exactly why I run away any time I see one. I hate them.

I'm afraid of dungon traps, ones in Ayelid ruins, especially.
I can usually see it coming but sometimes I'm not paying attention, then the "impaler plate" drops and my heart is beating really fast.

Daggerfall was the scariest. "Vengeance!" It always made me have explosive diarrhea in my pants from being scared so badly. :D

I always get a chill whenever I hear, "VENGEEAAAAANCE!", and immediately start running towards the closest inn or tavern.

Werewolves from Bloodmoon. I remember walking through the snow, making snow-angels, etc., when suddenly, I turn around and see a werewolf charging at me. Plus, when I came back to the Fort, everyone was avoiding me because of my disease. :(

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Sixth_House_Base for me too, it's that monotonous chanting, the eerie disembodied whispering and the threat of crippling disease... always scares me every time!
