Why are Ascended Sleepers a Different option than the Sixth house Bases? I voted the bases because of the creatures.
Oh and By Azura! By Azura! By Azura! By Azura! By Azura! By Azura! will forever haunt my dreams.

Zombies. I hate it when those things sneak up on you.

From Daggerfall: Vampire Ancients and "VENGEANCE!!!" for sure.

From Morrowind: Cliff Racers (I still remember the horror of entering into Molag Amur at a low level, only to accrue a winged pack of screeching death), and anything Sixth House related. Man, those guys hit the creepy vibe just right.

From Oblivion: .... Umm... Not much. The scenery of the Deadlands...? "By Azura, by Azura, by Azura...?" *tries halfheartedly to be afraid and fails*

Zombies arent that scary (only when your in the dark). Mudcrabs are just annoying because you cant normally see them (rats are worse).

But the most scary of all... is the adoring fan... when i hear those words i run to the nearest oblivion gate. :P yeh i just leave in oblivion and i dont see him

Rats. Every [censored] time. Daggerfall, morrowind, Oblivion (especially oblivion) they just come out of nowhere, you can't hardly see them unless you're looking down. Bah.

Also, "VENGEEEEEAAAAANCE!!!!", especially if it's been fairly quiet, and I have my speakers turned up.

There is a reason why I kill the adoring fan... hearing him raises my stress to a point where I kill him with my fist so that I relive stress, and have fun... :toughninja:

6th house, ascended sleepers, corpus monsters, anvil lighthouse, and oblivion gate decoration. :obliviongate:

"oh noes, it's the adoring fan! RUNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!"
"By Azura, by Azura, by Azura!"

The Dark Brotherhood spooked me both in morrowind and oblivion, the assassination for the tribunal expansion, as well as how Lucien wakes you up, both came unexpected so it was pretty freaky for me.

"You sleep rather soundly, for a murderer!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Chills :cold:

6th House bases. You go in there and you can't be quite sure what sorts of monsters you will run into that will smear your character all over the ground.

I also found MW's Ancestral Tombs to be on the eerie side as well. I mean, it's a place of the dead, typically filled with the undead, and your only excuse for being there is 'cause your character is a grave looter. :P

After playing Thief Gold, I don't find anything that I've encountered in TES to be particularly nerve-wracking.

I'd say things related to the 6th house were the only real horror creatures of TES. Every single one of their bases were dimly lit at best with a red eerie glow, and there are creatures made of ash and cancer trying to kill you. Creatures that look like they were born from a bad dream of a long dead dreamer that has yet to awaken.

But, the way I am describing them makes them out to be more scary than they really are.

Not even the morrowind corpus and sixth house monsters? Those things were just wrong, i wasn't sure whether to freak out or vomit when i first saw them.

Strangely, no. I think it's due to my TES mentality of "if it's hostile, kill it". I mean, corprus monsters and bonewalkers sort of surprised me the first time I encountered them, but at the time I killed them relatively easily (although I learned to hate Greater Bonewalkers), and as a result never registered them as "scary".

I voted for "VENGEEEEEAAAAANCE!" because it's scary and awesome at the same time.

"VENGEEEEAAAAAAANCE!" has my vote, as well as the general dark atmosphere of Daggerfall's dungeons. Sixth House bases were also very eerie, primarily because of the lighting.

Nothing really scares me in TES, then again I haven't played DF.

Sixth House kind of intrigue me (I am really fond of them actually)

Vampires are good, not evil (vampire slayers can die!)

Cliff Racers are definitely noble, they keep low level players from getting the good stuff, and I think they are Bethesda's joke of HA! Yes, you killed that ogrim titan ok, but can you take on 50 cliff racers?

By Azura, by Azura, by Azura! Thats evil, in its purest forms.

The things that scared/intimidated me most were ashlanders when I was new. I didn't know aobut sixth house, but I assumed anything in the ashlands was BAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!

I assumed by scaring the hell out of me you mean getting creeped out, or something to that effect.
So the Adoring Fan is disqualified, for only being annoying.
Mudcrabs, certainly not.
Cliffracers, annoying.
Clannfears and Daedroths only remind me of dinosaurs and crocodiles.
6th House bases are pretty creepy. I was particularly disturbed when I played with the bell sets.
Zombies and corprus beasts are essentially one and the same, aren't they? Shuffling, rotting human figures. They're pretty creepy.
Vampire lairs have a creepy atmosphere to them.

i cant see why zombies scare the crap out of people. their just difficult to kill, but not scary. wraiths are scary because POOF! there it it right in front of you breathing and swinging a dwarven shortsword at you. i chose sixth house bases because they're dark and you dont know what around the corner.

Not to mention some literally appear out of your dreams to kill you when you awake.

Wraiths.

Especially creeping through an otherwise seemingly empty crypt, you hear a faint noise behind you and when you turn around OMGWRAITHINMYFACEGETITOFFMEGETITOFFME!

How do you guys think the zombies are scary??!?! THEY SOUND LIKE COWS!

In oblivion the only thing I find scary is vampires when they cloak before you see them at all. Then all of the sudden OMGWTFBBQVAMPIREATTACK!
