TES V Ideas and Suggestions # 177

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 9:18 pm

What I'd like to see is a new skill called Horsemanship or Chivalry. Right now in Oblivion horses are only good for covering ground quickly. Just about anything could have taken its place. You can't attack while on horseback, you can't trample/run enemies over with horses, you can't even interact with anything meaningfully because the button for interact is the same as the button for dismount (at least it is on xbox, dunno how it works on pc) . If there was a horsemanship skill, you could have novice horseman, who can only ride, then you have apprentices, who gain the ability to attack while on horseback. Then you work your way up to masters, who can maybe tame wild mounts. The speed of your mount should also depend on your skill level, not on what colour your horse is. I'd also like more variety in the species of mounts available. Any of the native species of that province would be good, for example guars in morrowind.

Something else I'd like to see is the ability for spells to interact in with the environment, more so than just knocking items away. Here I'm thinking about the way plasmids worked in bioshock, how if you electrocuted water, anybody standing in it takes damage. Or if you set someone on fire, they're able to extinguish themselves by running into water. Currently the spells in Oblivion need something to distinguish them from one another

What if TESV had the economy of The Settlers 7 and a far greater combat system than that of Obby's? :D That'd be a real success :D

EDIT: Also, the ability to construct things (buildings etc.) would be very nice :D If that was like in The Settlers 7, then... Omg, I can't even describe the joy in me :D

Why can't you just post what you think of my ideas instead of comment on spelling?

It was just this post. Because "Weather" refers to rain, snow, sunshine, etc. and that threw me off. Secondly, your idea was one of the reasons for which the construction set was made.

Not everyone has access to a computer, or at least has the computer version of TES. I do, but my computer is absolutely terrible, so I use the space for Stronghold 2.

DLC, Purchasing houses. It would be better if you pushed for a Construction Set for the consoles. Which wouldn't be a bad idea.

Also, OblivionFreak DOES have a computer, because he talked of using the construction set.

Sorry if your offended, but bringing back dead topics(as I've recently learned) is not encouraged. And "weather" threw me off.

I'm not trying to start a fight. I'm Sorry if you are offended. All our ideas must be subjected to criticism when we post them, and let's just leave it at that.

I share in desire for some of your Ideas(Crafting, Dual-wielding), and would like to see them implemented in a future TES game.

Anyway, in oblivion I thought vampirism was a bit backwards, in that you grew stronger the more you resisted your hunger. You should actually grow weaker the more you resist.
And Vampires should actually sparkle in the sunlight.(Sarcasm)

That would be scary in a creepy way I would hate that. You are right about vampires they should get weaker. Also vampires in movies are hot They should look the same as a vampire except for their eyes they should be darkish and they should still be a little pasty.

(scary as in rediculess creppy scary)

I'll admit the vampires in Oblivion look more or less like skeletons covered in skin. It should be that as long as you feed regulary you maintain good looks, and that as opposed to a charm spell its just a personality bonus. And those of the opposite gender should be especially attracted to you.

Yeah that would be great I think. Also bring back slavery but any races is fair game. Also slavery quests one of which you are captured and sold as one and need to try to earn your freedom. That way as a vampire you can own slaves to feed off of. All races for slavery because the land will most likely be in caos. That and so people wont pick on the poor argonians and kajiit as much.

Also you can use them for hard labor but you would need guards and you could hunt for slaves yourself and owne a slaveshop.

This is something I love about the fall of the empire. They are no longer capable of enforcing their law system. People are free to enslave. It may be frowned upon, and made illegal my local governents, but if a government are all for slavery, they're free to do so. I can just imagine the possibilties of Summerset...

It shouldn't be just beasts that are enslaved, but rather have a variety of unlucky peoples suffer.

It should depend on the province. Altmer, for example, while they dislike anyone other than themselves, hate men more than anything. I could imagine more Imperial, Breton, Redguard and Nord slaves in Summerset. They would enslave anyone (even certain Altmer) without problem, but I would imagine them specifically targeting men first. Like the Dunmer and beasts.

Argonians and Khajiit would take Dunmer slaves as revenge.

Orcs would probably take nords because the nords are the only race that can rival orcs in strength so nords could do hard labor. Also every other province would try to take the orcs because of orcish strength for hard labor and orcs are ugly.Orcs would probably take anyone though I doubt altmer or bretons I imagine orcs being superstitious about magic.

I would imagine orcs would be most hostile towards Bretons
