Tes V Ideas And Suggestions Thread #159

Post » Mon Apr 19, 2010 11:06 am

Which is why in my original post I said that it wouldn't be easy to do. These are suggestions for the NEXT Elder Scrolls, not Oblivion. I realize there are in-game references to your character in OBLIVION, I want references to them in future games as well. It can be done,(vague reference to the Hero of Daggerfall in The Warp in the West) but I'd like to see it extended.

Like I said, only canon parts of a previous hero(main quest) can be mentioned in future games, and Elder Scrolls heroes typically fade away and become legends.

I like the puzzle in Fort Bulwark. Puzzles like that could(and should) be in TES V. Also, I would like to have a few riddles to solve, like the one in Rosethorn Hall.

Sounds awesome. :)-It would be cool If they made it like fable a bit. basically just take relationships farther than mentioned here

In Morrowind, there are areas that load, so you are already in an area that has loaded when you reach a city.-I like exterior loading so much more.

I liked that, too. They also need to let you wear clothes under your armor again and wear robes over them.-Yea so if your good at unarmored to you can practically be a tank.

Yeah I don't get that either. And, in the Shivering Isles, when you become the Duke of Mania, you can't sit on Theor--um the guy's throne at the table.
-odd works for me, but i have GOTY on the PS3.the curing Vampirism quest doest work. Its SO ANNOYING!! It wasted my beast file.

Hey heres an idea to kep immersion. a Loading bar instead of a loading screen.

Instead of taking you out of the game, when you go to a new area, a ,loading bar apears, instead of taking you out of the game to display sum boring loading screen with crappy art on it.

[...Loading...]

That is what was in morrawind.

I said it before but I just feel like saying it again, IF there is fast travel in TESV, please, for the love of god, don't put fast travel markers in the cities as soon as the game starts like in Oblivion. It's just a horrible design decision, it's like saying "Hey kids, who needs to walk, the second you first get out of jail just teleport wherever you want!" :glare:

Completely agree but, why have fast travel at all? It just lessons the game, for me at least. Having to actually WALK places makes the game seem more huge and open and expansive. Fast travel REALLY takes away from the epicness of the game. Oblivion would have been a lot better without it.
I say, keep the Morrowind style travel system. Have travel from city to city. You have to walk TO a city to travel, and once there, you can travel from say a few cities at a time. Not from Cheydinall to Anvil, etc. Keep it like MW was. Have to take a route to certain places to get so far, because it's not realistic a horse would travel that far for one person. So say from cheydinall to imperial city, from IC to skingrad, skingrad to anvil, etc.
I'd love that.

Yeah, I'm completely opposed to fast travel as well, but I'm just saying that if Bethesda implements fast travel again, I don't want them putting map markers in the cities at the very beginning of the game.

Like you, all I want is Morrowind style travel in-between each major city. The cities in Skyrim are laid out in such a way that if you ever need to walk somewhere, there's always going to be a city near it that you can travel to first and then walk from.

Yeah, completely agree. Being able to just port ANYWHERE from the beginning really cheapens the feel of the game world.
But, of coarse, we could always hope that Beth implements some sort of nordic city to city travel. ^_^
Now we need to sneak into Beth headquarters and plant our plans on the desk of Todd Howard. :ninja:

We have all encountered those pesky highwaymen who give us the choice: "Your money or your life." Well, what would you do if the one offering you that choice is a patrolling soldier, or a member of the city watch? What if that guard wants a little gift to prevent him from slapping a bounty on your head and hauling you to prison? What if his buddies are more than happy to help, and his lord is ready to look away or even to demand his cut?

I think the game could be much more interesting if fewer guards weren't such paragons of law and order. It could be fun to sneak around just to avoid being noticed by the watch, or to try talking your way out of trouble, or to get stuck with a bounty for refusing to pay a bribe.

An occasional curfew might be fun too. If the guards see you out after dark, they'll approach you and ....

Well my ideas are uh

LOCATION DAMAGE

That is a must. I want to see when people get hit in the legs, they start limping and falling. When they get nailed in the balls they start throwing up. Also I want to see WOUNDS! Wounds at the location that we hit... How could a game be realistic without WOUNDS? Ha it couldn't though i must say this is the best game ever created.

Getting Body Parts Chopped Up

Well.... i want to see Bethesda do some official modding. Bethesda has probably the best modders out there, maybe better than Skycaptains Deadlyreflex (NO OFFenSE) skycaptain ur mods r GREAT.

Spells that affect the AREA
====================
Which like means that it destroys some like ground parts. Make like crevices. Some can damage buildings (THEY HEAL!)

Special attack with weapons?
something that will cost you a great deal of fatigue, but can do more damage.

example:
When you attack with a spear (yes, spear!) you'll be able to throw it towards your enemy.
Because it is your "equipped" weapon, you will automatically pick it up as soon as you'll get in hands-reach.
If you miss, you'll have to run like hell to get it back, or use another weapon.

It'll add alot of strategics in the game, and gives you a chance to get out of nasty situations.

like beeing able to do a swirling round swing with your sword, but only able if you have 50% fatigue or more.

or throw your dagger, hammer someone with you hammer, do a ninja chop with your katana, stab someone with your arrow if he comes too close. etc.

another thing that would be cool is if i go swimming in lets say fur armor...

A. i start to sink.

B. when get out of water weighted down.

C.if its night and or cold out get debuff and if its really cold start taking dmg.

Also better AI and not fun see AI go dumb on you if you do some stuff.

smarter guards ...like isnt it odd if someone poor walks into town and then leaves with full suit of armor , or if you see someone walk out of a CLOSED store...

also family tree's for everyone (even guards) as in NPCs have brother sisters mother fathers aunt and uncle's.

I really like your ideas. I think that the player should be able to learn new attacks like this from fighters guild of you got enough gold and skills. Fatigue should play a role when using this attacks, like mages uses magicka.

Give magic attacks stealth damage if your target is unaware.

Race traits should not be classified as spells, the khajiits night eye has nothing to do with magic, and make it something that you can turn on/off instead of some 30sec crap. it's hard being sneaky in the shadows when you're race trait only lasts for 30 sec, and it lights up the room every time you use it because it's classified as a spell.

You WANT another game as tiny as TES3 and 4? I want a game scoped more like TES2, AND a meaningful fast travel to go with it. That's what I want. But IF I wanted another tiny, tiny game world, then no, no fast travel with that one please.

Not trying to attack you, just have this annoying way of bringing stuff up ;)

If you have telekinesis, you should be able to automatically draw your thrown weapon back to you (assuming you have enough magicka).

Am I the only one that wants an option to take a "Scenic" public transportation, where you sit on the back of the cart/carriage/sled and watch the scenery go by, and talk with other riders? But it's like 10x faster than running/walking, so it makes it worthwhile?

The only reason the first two games had it was because it took absolutely forever to walk from one town to another. But lets face facts, TES V is not going to be nearly as big as either of the first games. Morrowind style transport would work for any game world that Bethesda is capable of making, as long as there aren't dozens of miles between cities like the first two games.

I believe it is smaller than OB and DF. I don't know the numbers so if someone could post them...

but in MW you are moving at the speed of a slug through mountains and in OB you can literally sprint like a horse over what is largely great plains. That is why MW has a larger feel. So not tiny of itself, and its still bigger than Mario, but much smaller than DF.
