My pitchers are dominating the dojo so far this week. 30 IP with an ERA of 1.17, WHIP of 0.90 and 4 wins. Too bad I can't store some of that up for next week.

So Thadeus, what do you plan to do about your shortstop now that you traded Hanley Ramirez away?

After that first day where one of my guys had a 23.68 era, I don't think I'm catching you there. Still I'm not doing to bad in the rest of the categories, especially since I had a good day today.

I was a bit shocked by this move.

I think he's getting the better player out of the deal, though he does have a buttload of outfielders already.

I had Troy Tulowitzki as well. He moves to SS, and I put Ronnie Belliard in the 2B/SS position.

Ah, good old Bellylard! Did the Dodgers decide to start him regularly?

I still can't believe I let go of Kelly Johnson at one point and then was able to pick him back up. He leads the league in homers, who'd have thought that would happen?

Well, it would appear that my pitching staff is finally starting to put it together. Lester finally looked like the Ace I drafted today.

I personally disagree, I mean, Hanley is a legit gives great stats in every single category, Crawford's upside is limited to stolen bases and runs. His power numbers don't hurt you (much), but he certainly isn't the 30-30 threat that Hanley is.

That being said, I can't fault the deal. You really can't go wrong when it comes to first round guys, and Thadeus is second to last in runs and third to last in steals, so he's getting help in the categories that he needs it.

I am happy to see Johnson doing well. I always liked him when he was with the Braves.

My hitters finally found their grove too. 5 HRs and 14 RBI today. :celebration:

Good day for me today, at least offensively, great day compared to Gstaff.

Still, I can't help but be slightly intimidated by the whipping noises coming from the NinjaFish/Blernsball match up.

Five days in and NinjaFish has an ERA of 1.81. That's ridiculous! This could be the first real blowout of the season.

My guys have pitched ridiculously well so far this week, but that only gets me back to the middle of the pack as far as season totals go. Hopefully they can keep it up, I really need a huge week to get back into things.

I seem to be doing pretty well in the other league too, what it is 9-3? :P Your team in that league is stacked. I meant to send you a message after that draft but something happened to the one I wrote then I got distracted. If I had realized that there were so many good players available I would not have kept all 5 guys that I did. I keep Bay and McCutchen and you draft Braun, Holliday, Sizemore (who is killing me in this league) and Halladay. :o

My team is stacked, but I haven't done much in ways of filling in holes. There's not much out there in regards to FA's, lol. I'm still not sure how I got some of the players I did in such a big league and without even making the draft.

The league went from 18 to 16 teams and there were two other owners who went AWOL, so there were 4 teams that vanished with all of their players entering the draft pool. All of the existing owners kept at least 3 players, most kept 5; so you and the other new owner were the only ones picking the first 3 rounds and had little competition before round 6. It was hard to sit there and watch those names go off the board. That said the free agent pool is rather barren.

That makes sense. I hope we never have to deal with anything like that in this league.

You shouldn't as long as you stay away from trying a keeper league. With a fluid environment like an internet forum It is hard enough to get everyone to stick around for an entire season much less the same people for multiple years. It is different in real life, the football keeper league I do with my friends is easy because we talk regularly outside of the football season.

Really, if we keep this thread going and keep discussing it, I don't think we'll lose as many people as we did last year.
