Before we know it, the first month of the season is going to be behind us. It's been a good one so far, and I'd like to think this year is far more competitive than last.

I'm just bummed I couldn't pull off getting Kinsler.

Lots of waiver wire action today. I got the guy I wanted, so I'm happy.

Did anyone else have a claim on Ramirez?

I didn't have room for anymore 3rd baseman, so I passed on him. Thought about Kinsler too, but I figured with as low in the waiver wire I was I couldn't get anyone good.

EDIT: I realize that after I posted this I picked up another 3rd baseman, but he has DH and 1st base elegibility too. Plus I've always liked Wigginton, pissed me off when the Astros released him.

I picked up Brad Penny. I want to make sure I beat Gstaff in the K category, and possibly the WHIP and ERA categories as well. I have three pitchers starting today.

And I still need closer help, everyone.... lol

You could try picking up Brian Fuentes off waivers. He only has 2 saves this season, but after recording 49 last year it might be worth it.

Is he the main closer, though? I wasn't sure if he was or not. Oh well, I'll pick him up and drop Frasor.

He is, but Rodney is knocking on the door.

For now he is, but he might not be if he keeps struggling.

My team is playing atrociously, but I still think I have a lot of good players. Hopefully they can turn things around. :(

I'm kicking myself for not playing Carlos Lee today. I went to get lunch and when I came back I couldn't put him in the spot I wanted to, then I find out later that two of my outfielders aren't even playing today!

And also for not picking up Zito like I had planned. Picked up Brett Gardner to help my stolen bases since Victorino and Bourn hadn't been. :/

There's no way I'm gonna win now. Too little too late I guess. Congrats, Ninja.

Oof.

Going 5/45 killed my Batting Average this week, and my OBP.

And Javier Vazquez throws out another stinker. He was doing great until I check the score, and then... Yeah.

For all those players you took that I wanted, I'm glad Vazquez was one of them. :hehe: Guess something about New York doesn't agree with him.

You could still get me with K's and WHIP.

You know Thadius, I like your teams' style. You either win big or lose spectacularly, including last year.

5/46 now...

What would be really awesome is if Mike Pelfrey gave up a few runs, then Billy Wagner comes in and gets a save. Then I wouldn't get any losses at all this week! :P

Haha, yeah, I know. It's the same for me in football as well.

I'll be getting a win for the second week in a row. Good game, Gstaff. I'm just glad my team's coming together finally. Maybe I won't have/want to make so many moves. lol

I'd still like another closer, though. Anyone who has one they'd like to deal just let me know. Look at my roster. There are only a few that are untouchable.

I just hope Gstaff's "Infection" continues to be as wimpy as the common cold into next week. I'd be beating him 10-2 this week.

I was beating him 11-0-1 at one point but he started to make something of a comeback.

I hope Gstaff comes back, its a long season and he has some great pieces (Pujols anyone?). It's not his fault we scheduled the draft for a time when he told us he likely couldn't make.

We were just angry because he won't admit to TESV, it's all one big plot. :P

Well I didn't do too bad, broke even with Ratwar this week, and it was the first week I actually set up my roster.

Really, not being at the draft isn't horrible. The people at ESPN have a decent draft order. I won on an auto-draft last year, though I played the waiver wire well.

We both had good weeks, we just had bad luck to be facing another team having a good week.

For him he got screwed. Didn't draft a full pitching staff, drafted a few position players that started off on the DL or went on the DL (though anyone could struggle with that).

EDIT: From looking at the scoreboard, 3 teams would have beaten me in runs, 4 would have beaten me in HR, 2 in RBI, 1 in SB, 1 in batting average, 3 in OBP, nearly everyone in Ks, nobody in wins, all but 1 in saves, 3 in holds, 5 in ERA, and nobody in WHIP. My confidence just went waaay down. :(
