TES League Fantasy Baseball

One thing I would like to see is a change in the pitchers positions. I prefer to see a few slots for Starting Pitchers, a few slots for Relief Pitchers, and then a couple generic Pitcher slots as opposed to everything being generic P's.

Yeah, I like that idea. I think it would even things up a bit. I'd also like to add some more scoring categories, maybe some defensive stuff and a few more offensive categories. Our settings really require mostly power to win, so unless you have a Ryan Howard or an Albert Pujols type player, you can be left behind sometimes. That's how it seems to me anyway.

What would you guys like to see as far as new categories? I'm about to head to work, and I have to be in early in the morning, so I probably won't be checking this much until tomorrow evening. I'll catch up with everything then.

I've never been an Admin so I wouldn't know. I just like the idea of having like 4 SP, 2 RP and the rest generic pitches.

I think fielding percentage and OPS would be nice additions. Maybe even an assist stat if that's available.

If you guys end up needing an extra, I'll join. I haven't done fantasy baseball since I was in college.

I'm pretty certain at this point that there will be. So, when that occurs, you guys will be the first to know.

Also, there's a limit of 5 starters and 4 relief pitchers that you can have in play. I also made some changes to the scoring settings.

I added:

OBP

Slugging Percentage

Errors

For pitching:

Losses

Blown Saves

Let me know if that works or if we need to do something different.

Bah... many times losses aren't really the pitcher's fault. It's why I tend not to pay attention to records.

True. I was going to add Runs Allowed, but a lot of times those come from errors in the field. There's not many negative categories for pitcher's that don't end up this way somehow. Here's what's available:

ERA	Earned Run Average*	K	Strikeouts	WHIP	Walks plus Hits Per Innings Pitched*	W	Wins	SV	Saves	OBA	On Base Pct Against*	QS	Quality Starts	L	Losses*	HR	Home Runs Allowed*	HD	Holds G	Appearances GS	Games Started	IP	Innings Pitched	BF	Batters Faced	PC	Pitch Count	H	Hits Allowed*	BAA	Batting Average Against*	BB	Walks Issued*	HB	Hit Batsmen*	RA	Runs Allowed*	ER	Earned Runs*	K/9	Strikeouts per 9 Innings	WIN%	Win Pct	SOP	Save Opportunities	BS	Blown Saves*	SV%	Save Pct	CG	Complete Games	SO	Shutouts	PTW	Pitcher Team Win	K/BB	Strikeout to Walk Ratio	SVHD	Saves Plus Holds

We DO have ERA as a category, right?

Yeah, here's what we have so far.

Pitching:

Earned Run Average (ERA)*
Strikeouts (K)
Walks plus Hits Per Innings Pitched (WHIP)*
Wins (W)
Saves (SV)
Losses (L)*
Blown Saves (BS)*

Batting:

Home Runs (HR)
Runs Scored ®
Runs Batted In (RBI)
Stolen Bases (SB)
Slugging Pct (SLG)
On Base Pct (OBP)
Errors (E)*

I personally don't like negative categories, takes some of the fun out. I would prefer Holds to Blown Saves myself.

How about I take out losses, blown saves and error, and add holds? That should even it up, and we would only have two negative categories, which would be ERA and WHIP.

That would be great, IMO, as we would have 6 hitting and 6 pitching right?

Ah, I was going to suggest K/bb but 6 hitting and 6 batting works.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. You can't place 0th. This time the margin will be big enough that a single half game won't matter.

I was hoping you would be back. Glad to have you on board.

Hoping you'll get redemption? I doubt you'll be able to steal Pujols again this year...

Good luck this year! I'm sure you'll be able to win 40% of your games this time around!

How long should I wait to hear from everyone before I start filling spots?

Well, for the people that didn't really play last year in the second half (Cliffracers and Pale Hose), I'd replace them as soon as we have a taker.

For the others that had activity who we haven't heard from (Drinkers and FTW), perhaps we could send a reminder to 'em.

Also, would we want to expand the league this year, if we had the people?
