TES VI Location and Setting Speculation #4

Post » Wed Apr 23, 2014 4:16 pm

As yet Bethesda haven't said anything about the future of the Elder Scrolls series, but one of the most common topics of speculation is where the next game should be set. Rather than trying to keep this in the official suggestion/discussion thread we've decided to give this an official home.
This discussion doesn't need to be tied entirely to geography, other setting details are also appropriate. However let's please keep this focused on the game world and leave other matters, like gameplay mechanics or NPCs, in the other thread.

I wander if this means that The Elder Scrolls Online might be a melting pot of some kind. Such as why make TES VI: Hammerfell game when you can pretty much make a DLC for TESO to unlock the Hammerfell region and so on. Sure they're might be future Elder Scrolls games but something tells me TESO is going to be it for awhile, which I don't mind TESO is getting me pretty excited to play it.

I think VI will take place in either Alinor or Hammerfell (Valenwood in 3rd). The Thalmor conflict is too good to pass up. We got a glimpse of it in Skyrim.

My vote will be for Valenwood (with Summerset Isles) or Elsweyr will be the next one since the Thalmor conflict is more heavy there.

I wounder if they would do two provinces? Like one set in somewhere a previous game has take place (a revisit if you will) and somewhere the series hasent been.

And no i dont mean like what skyrim did with solestein, it was just an island afterall, and it wasnt really located anywhere morrowind had taken place?

I personally would rather they stick to single provinces. There's more than ample room for variation of scenery and architecture in each province, and dividing their attention means a less polished result all round. They've managed to improve on the overly generic, total lack of culture in Oblivion with their portrayal of Skyrim, i really don't want to have to go back to the same classic-fantasy citizenry just to they can cram two provinces into one game.
