TES 5 location

Post » Wed Sep 15, 2010 6:04 am

I was wondering were do you want tes do you want it in Skyrim or another Province? I want it a a rugged fantasy land I don't mind the unoriginality of Oblivion but as long as it isnt all of it like Oblivion. I want it in a desert with real survival stuff needed. I relay hope that it is a place with a lot of diversity. I hear elswayre has a lot of jungle desert and grassland. But I don't think it would be easy with the gazillion of races. I am not shure on what to vote. I did not add Cyrodil For the second one because we were just there. I don't care about where we go but I have my preferences. I got the info on Bosmer from Elders Scrolls Wiki. They are cannibalistic so I wanted to add that.

"I am curious about this, as I believe I am among the very small minority who would really want to see option 7 - All of Tamriel.

As the last three chapters addressed specific regions (Daggerfall - High Rock; Morrowind....; Cyrodill) I guess it is more than normal to expect TES V to be located in one region and have this one only province extremely detailed.

But I'd love us to be able to explore all provinces (like TES Arena), even if we could not explore them in as great depth (ie, all cities, towns, etc...). Seeing the different environments, structures, societies, dominant folks, creeds, their different reactions according to your precedence...

As noted above, if there already is such a poll (I did not find it), pls inform me and lock."

So, I did not post my vote here, coz I really want it in All of Tamriel (I love diversity).

You do realize that you just said you want more space even if there is almost nothing in it....EDIT: which pretty much negates one of THE best qualities of an rpg which is interaction.

It may sound like this, but I did not mean that - my bad.

We are used to be able to walk entire, continuing distances, which would be impractical for the entire Tamriel. Yet I really would love to be able to see the different provinces in the game. How? I do not know.

Mods :P

Elsweyr and Hammerfell already exist for Oblivion. Onra's heightmaps recreate the entirety of Tamriel for Oblivion, with Skyrim just around the corner for a beta release. I would much rather have one hugely detailed province created by Bethesda, with the reigns handed over to the community for huge province expansions.

Summerset Isle is my pick. I imagine it beautiful. And I want to play that one before I pass on and I'm not sure how long that might be.

Crystals, name sake, my favorite snobbish high elves, levitation...

I thought about voting for that but after Oblivion I want something more alien than majestic.

I voted for Blackmarsh, Valenwod, and Elsweyr, but my top choice is Skyrim. I wouldn't mind High Rock or Hammerfell, especially Hammerfell since even thought it takes place in a desert like New Vegas it has more of a Arabic influence.

As great as all that sounds, we are quite a way away from technology that allows us to have all that while maintaining a good amount of things to do, atleast on a console.

Personallly I'd love Blackmarsh. I love the Argonians, but the land too. It sounds mysterous like Morrowind. Think of it for a moment... Trudging in thick green sludge, flies everywhere, weird swamp noises...Swarms of man-eating flies that come out of nowhere.... I also think the fact that Argonians are made up of Tribes is a great idea to work around. Plot could include the Dark elves trying to enslave the Argonians as you the player picks a side...and maybe even get to go to a small part of Morrowind for a portion of the game. But as I write this I realize that Bethesda is MOST LIKELY at work on an ES 5, so they probably have a setting already. Just wishful thinking.

If the game is set in skyrim and right next to High Rock we may see some orc and breton towns.

The Nords are my favorite race, so Skyrim definitely takes it.

Though I'm clearly in the minority, my second choice would be for a game set in Hammerfell. There could be some really awesome cultural things regarding the Redguards.

Although it may be a coincidence, in Morrowind, little hints were given that the game series was going to be continued in Cyrodill. NPCs would speack of unrest in the capitol, something about the emperors sons being assassinated... i cant remember now but it came up a lot when you asked NPCs about rumours.

anywho, in Oblivion i noticed the same thing... often NPCs would chat about some unrest with the Wizards in Summerset Isle...this got me thinking that it could have something to do with the return of the Psijic Order (for those of you unfamiliar, this has to do with the formation of the mages guild) also, summerset isle is supposed to be home to this adamantine tower or something of the sort...the oldest structure in tamriel (unless i got the location wrong) and that would be darn interesting to see

Yeah I remember about that Oblivion foreshadowing stuff in Morrowind. It would make sense too since TES III was first supposed to take place in the Summerset Isle as TES IV, they are obviously interested in making a game there. On the other hand, that Skyrim trademark stuff makes me wonder why they'd go through all the pain of keeping it for so long for anything else than a main entry in the ES series, and with the fall of Morrowind, I guess it could make an interesting political background for Skyrim and a new TES game. Skyrim has been the most speculated but I'd say if it's not taking place there it has to take place in the Summerset Isle.

I don't care where but if it has to be somewhere else other than skyrim, then I pick Valenwood.

No the bosmer are the cannibals. I read it on Elder Scrolls Wiki. I don't want to be a bosmer anymore after I read it and I don't want to go there either cus of it.

BTW I love your avatar.

Mine? :)

Kool, I normally play as Nords for some odd reason I just always do, maybe cuz I don't like playing a short elves??? I kinda have a thing for cannibals for some reason so looks like I got a new long for TES even more now XD MMMWWHHHAHAHAH :flamethrower: :obliviongate:

I don't get how so many of you guys are adamant on Skyrim. I mean that seems like the most likely location, but personally I'd rather play in the majestic forests that you'd find in Summerset than http://www.jarmilatyrril.com/images/antarctica_pyramid.jpg.

Maybe not ALL now and mountains, but certainly a majority. Personally I'd rather have the main setting be something like Summerset Isles, and have Skyrim be an expansion sort of like Shivering Isles.

Except Shivering Isle didn't take place in a province. No complete province will ever be featured in an expansion, too big.

Quite frankly, as long as the location TES V is based in displays diversity (on par with Morrowind) I do not really mind where it will be. There is something truly striking about Morrowind's landscape, and as long as TES V's location can be striking in its own, unique way, I have no real preference.

Personally, I think a separate isle like Summerset Isle would be a better place for wannabe modders, as they can make separate isles for their new mods, like in Morrowind, you either used their provided transportation to the isles, or swam your way into the place from another direction.

You could make the isle in any shape that you liked. Do you want it to be oval or irregular shape? A volcano in the middle? A caldera? Two? OK.

A land limited place give us less freedom for our imagination.
