TES Minature War Game?

Post » Mon Dec 14, 2009 8:19 am

I was browsing another fourm I frequent that focuses on miniature wargames like Warhammer 40k, Warhammer FB, Warmachine, etc and I was think how I would like a TES wargame maybe in the style of Warhammer FB. Would anyone else like to see and a tabletop game based around TES?

What time would it be set in?
What kinds of Armies would you like to see?
Would you play it if it was ever made?

That would be pretty cool. There could possibly be an army of each province or maybe a mixed-race army of the Empire. Then you could have Mehrunes Dagon's army and possibly an army of Dagoth-Ur's? Maybe even Akavir could be in it, though I highly doubt that happening. Dagon's army could have the siege crawler too! :obliviongate:

If they did the Empire as one army then Akavir would be a natural choice for an opposing army (as would Mehrunes Dagon). I think it's unlikely that they'd consider a table top war game, particularly before a pen and paper RPG system, but it would be pretty cool.

Would be a real fun idea. Could bring a lot of table top fans and TES fans together to enjoy the rich world of Tamriel.

I'd be down for a pen and paper above a table top, or even a card playing game could be awesome.

Pen and Paper and/or card system would suit the Elder Scrolls universe more, as there aren't any large scale conventional wars going on between super powers at the moment like the near perpetual wars in Warhammer or Warcraft.

Tamriel lends itself more to party based dungeon diving stories, like classic pen and paper D n D. Some fans have already formulated fairly good Tamriel based campaigns. One actually funded by Bethesda, with official artwork and campaign settings written by guys like Kuhlman or Kirkbride would be bad[censored].

edit: Thanks for making this topic. I was literally about to make one just like it. Saved me the trouble.

I think a Pen-and-Paper RPG should be made officially first, then a wargame. Inventive players could probably convert the rules of the pnp game to work as a war game, but then again, so could players of the war game make it into a pnp game, similar to Chainmail and how DnD began
