Don't get the wrong idea, now. I wasn't sure what to put in the title, but that's the best I got.
Anyway, with Skyrim just around the corner and the countless videos and threads describing/showcasing its capabilities, I started to wonder if Bethesda would be better off giving their games online capabilities to deliver a more dynamic experience. I'm not talking multilayer, mind you, but what if dynamic or community-wide events that are patched in or delivered in real-time while the player is playing? Radiant A.I. seems to be pretty amazing, but there's a limit to how much you can ship with any game. DLC provides a solution for newer content, but what if Bethesda delivered dynamic content to us on a daily basis? What if cities actually lived while you were offline? What if new characters appeared every week?
I think it'd be pretty cool, and interesting. The game itself should be shipped on each disc, and a "living world" DLC provided for each platform that would manage all the new information being sent from the server to the game and randomly go about adding it, working along with Radiant A.I. to ensure an even better experience.
Thoughts?
