TES V Skyrim is the last ES game?

Post » Thu Apr 07, 2011 10:35 pm

There are only 5 prophecies in the scroll and we covered them in 5 tes titles, and Skyrim is the last perdicted event that would happen within the scrolls, so what do you guys think?

There are many more Elder Scrolls than that.

Remember the Thieves Guild in Oblivion?
And the Imperial Library has many more Elder Scrolls stored.

So no. It's not over.

This is the ending of the third era, more cataclysmic events could still happen. Also this is the end of the Septim Empire this is just a fresh start to a great saga and just an arch to a story. There could be another epic builld up why not...

There are Elder Scrolls from that chronicle the beginning of time until the end of time. There are not just 5 prophecies. I'm not sure why people get that from what was written in the GI article. Also, the events that happened in the other games is not what caused the events of Skyrim (except maybe Oblivion?). They were just things that would happen before the return of Alduin and are significant events that would allow you to see when it would happen, they had nothing to do with Alduin's return.

There are even more continents on Nirn, in the event that Beth ever gets tired of setting games in Tamriel.

You're right, but the main Scroll told of every event that would happen throughout every era, or did it only tell of the 3rd era?

The Elder Scrolls series all take place near the end of the 3rd Era, with Oblivion ending it.
Redguard is the only exception, as it takes place in the 2nd Era.

This above: also Skyrim goes two hundred years into the forth era. There is also alot more Elder Scrolls than the few we seen they mentioned and seen the library where they are stored there are countless Scrolls. I would hate to see five events end the world of Nirn...

If a series makes money, they will keep making them... end of story. The lore does not at all hint that this would be the last game, but even if it did (which id doesn't).... Bethesda wrote the lore, and can change it any time they want.

Besides, ZeniMax is likely working on an Elder Scrolls MMO. So even if this was the last single player TES game (it won't be), the odds that its the last TES game ever are virtually zero.

Who told you there are only 5 prophecies in the elder scroll?

In the info on Skyrim and in GI, it said the Scrolls told of 5 events that would happen, 4 that would trigger the 5th-Dragons coming back to Tamerial.

There is no "Main Scroll." Each scroll contains a single prophecy, the rise of Jagar Tharn, the Numidium, The Nerevarine, the Oblivion Crisis, et cetera. The specifics of these prophecies, if memory serves correctly, varies between anyone who reads each scroll. For instance, say three people read the Elder Scroll regarding the Nerevarine Prophecy. One will say that the Nerevarine was a Dunmer, another will say the Nerevarine was an Imperial, a third will say that the Nerevarine is a She and is a Nord. Once the prophecy is fufilled, the Elder Scroll switches it's contents to match the specifics of the prophecy.

The majority of the Elder Scrolls series only takes place in the 3rd Era, there is no real specific reasoning for this, it just is.

As for the GI article, it never said that those were the only events that would happen, did it?

Yeah good point and there are several events that could still be told there are countless scrolls. So there could be a never ending stream of TES hey you wont hear me complain about that at all.. :liplick:

I think it's a combination. Bethesda should at least hit all the Providences, maybe introduce new ones, newly discovered. But why stop a game series people still love? $$$$

I wouldn't be devastated if they ended the series after Skyrim, so long as they came out with a new series of the same calibre. It's possible they could exhaust the setting if they kept putting out games in Tamriel. Fortunately Skyrim has a lot of scope to do things a little different. Setting-wise it's a lot different from Cyrodiil and Vvardenfell, so I'll be disappointed if it comes out rather samey. I wouldn't mind if the next game went somewhere else on Nirn.

Bethesda ending Elder Scrolls would be as insane as Square Enix ending Final Fantasy...which I hope never happens to either franchise.

Anybody who as actually beaten Elder Scrolls IV knows that it is not the end and that this Dragon Born that your going to be playing in the Fifth game is creating the prophecies for the next era.

Yes, anyone who has beat TES IV "knew" information that was just recently released.

After Skyrim, they should move on to FO4 and then back to TES again.

They should keep making TES until the have centered a game in every province and then when the tech is ready…

They make the whole damn world.

I'd think they have big enough teams and enough financial clout now to be working on the Fallout and ES series' side by side.
