TES V Speculation Thread # 41

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 3:26 am

I think it would be pretty awesome if TES:V turned out to be in Akavir rather than skyrim, or something equally unexpected.

Possibly a completely new world like Shivering Isles, only without all the disturbing stuff. :)

Ok so a week from now the game is announced. Some website or other will jump the "official" announcement time by a few hours, beating GI to their cover reveal.

The magazine comes out the first week of August. Quakecon is August 12-15th, when all the websites and stuff will get info that's already in the mag and they'll release a short teaser trailer.

GDC is in February, they'll consider giving a technical oriented presentation too the press there.

E3 is a year from now. Someone will get up on stage to do the first live gameplay demonstration of the game.

Quakecon 2011 will see the final big info release on the game. Maybe they'll show off the construction set!

Finally between August of 2011 and Summer of 2012 they'll release the game, and everyone here will be "sick" :yuck: that Tuesday.

Sound like a plan guys?

I could see that.

I have a question. Can Bethesda Game Studios get upgraded versions of their middlewares (Speedtree, Havok, etc.) for free since they already licensed them?

Nah. Thats not a good way for middleware providers to get rich. I'd bet that the license is only ever good for the current version.

Even possible they were crossing legal swords with http://www.skyrim.com/, in order to establish IC territory.

Nords just have good wi-fi.

I don't know; this seems difficult to ascertain precisely. With their markets being starkly incompatible it just doesn't seem a likely scenario...but who knows...?

That would depend entirely on the middleware's license. So while theoretically possible, as someone already mentioned, I don't believe it's probable.

Bethesda is very well aware of how many fans they have. They just want to test our faithfulness with their silence.

How to you get a whole team to remain silent without so much as a hint? you'd have thought one would have told his freind about the game he is working on... who tells his friend etc.

Well, they still let things slip from time to time like when Pete Hines said last year that "Todd and his team have their hands full with the Elder Scrolls and Fallout".

Final Fantasy Versus XIII has just had a http://kotaku.com/5571447/first-final-fantasy-versus-xiii-gameplay-images in Famitsu magazine, Japan's version of Game Informer. So that's one less game to worry about contending with TES:V for next month's Game Informer cover.

FFvXIII wasn't at E3, it is a big sequel, and now it looks like it won't be in Game Informer! Huzzah!

Looks like Beth is getting quite a bit of competition on the open world front.

Unless FF suddenly changed everything about their game play, I don't see it competing with TES at all.

That's true, I'm just pointing out that more video game companies seem to be making open world games. Of course, most of them svck.

I just REALLY hope TES V will come out eventually, also that Bethesda won't really change it too much like some companies do and totally mess up the game from it's original style. I LOVE Oblivion, i'm just restless for the sequel.

The game will be awesome, but it will have its own unique feel and atmosphere.

Thats the good thing about this franchise it always keeps itself fresh.

COMMENTS:
Is it possible if the subscription was processed today, that I receive the August issue of Game Informer? I really don't want to miss out on the reveal of The Elder Scrolls V ;)

Dear Marc,
Yes, you will more than likely receive your August issue as your first issue if you were to subscribe within the next few days.
