Mass ftw.
The only thing I can see happening in regards to ESV is that we'll just have to sit it out and see what happens over the next few weeks. I'd like to believe that someone important from Bethesda would have poked their head in by now and dismissed this as silly childish guesswork and false hope if that was actually the case. The fact that they actually acknowledge the existence of this discussion and our standpoint on it (I see some colorful names poking their heads in here and there) without dismissing or affirming the validity of anything in here leads me to assume that they are either having a good laugh at our silly obsession, or they do, in fact, have something planned. And if there are plans, my assumption is that they are fast approaching fruition, or else someone from Bethesda would have said that we should not look for anything in the near future. They did say that before, explicitly stating that we should not look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future. But that was a near future or two ago, and all that remains is a suspenseful silence. This is true, of course, unless they are actually getting some sort of fun out of us or fear the disappointment they would create if they deny our assumptions after this much anticipation has already been built up. That being said, that disappointment would be inevitable and fast approaching anyways, with the deadline being the revelation of the next cover of GI. The one solace I have is that whatever we will find out, we will find soon. So, it's best to hope for the confirmation we all want to hear, but prepare for the possibility that we could go for much longer with no goal in sight.
Personally, though I can't say the same for everyone, I might still be dissatisfied with any announcement of Elder Scrolls V until I know that it is
good, by which it fixes a lot of the things that, in my mind, Oblivion needed work with. But here's to hoping, and I'll just keep my head held high in the face of doubt.
