Unfortunate because it actually looks really nice. At least the environments do. If TESV continues on as rumour-ware I'll have no problem jumping ship.

Even if ESV gets announced next week it probably won't come out for at least a year so unless it gets horrible reviews I'm going to pick up Gothic 4 to scratch that fantasy itch. I've never played a Gothic game before, but i've heard good things on this very forum.I am an open world junkie and pick up just about anything that doesnt require me to run down an endless hallway.

I hope we don't have to wait a few more years. I doubt my computer will be capable of running it by then.
Oh, and how can a game no one has played look buggy?

For the record, Gothic 4 (or ArcaniA as it is called) is being developed by a completely different studio than the other three games. Looking on youtube, it actually looks quite good, but time will tell.

That transcribed phone conversation was enlightening.

I still think it'll be TESV. Not only for the listed reasons, but MK's back as well. And since the GI thing is supposedly being shown after the fifth (5th to 12th was what I recall being said) and he is going to start writing this new thing on the 4th, that's just one more thing, isn't it?

EDIT P.S. Also, GI does tend to have first-look announcemrnts as cover stories, so even if something wasn't at E3, if it's already been shown anywhere we can safely assume it isn't in the running.

The recent activity seems to have given the speculation thread an adrenaline boost. It looks like there is a new thread every two or so days, when will the madness end...

Hmmmm... I emailed GI customer service yesterday with the question if I would be in time for the TESV covered July issue if I would subscribe today.
They haven't replied

We probably should not get our hopes up to high, because if we expect it to come out soon and it does not we will be disappointed, and if we think it will be terrific, it will be crushing if it is not that good :(

"Whats a few more years?"

The difference between almost needing therapy and a long stay in a padded room. I am in no mood for the possibility of TES:V speculation thread 200, 300, or 400.

Amen, brother.

If the August issue isn't ESV I'm gonna lose it. I think it will be though. It has to be...

The last few weeks have kind of sobered me since McNamara put that tweet up about the cover. At least Gstaff hasn't come in here (yet) and said "Hey! No Elder Scrolls on GI!" That's the small amount of hope I have.

I just found something interesting. If you go to yahoo's search bar and type in "game informer" the third link/option that comes up is the Elder Scrolls website. Its a sign from the Gods that the August GI cover will be TESV...

You know why that is? It's because 'Game Informer' is mentione on the front page. Plus, we are mentioning Game Informer in basically every post on this forum.

Actually I had no interest in any game other than OB for (3) years.I played it, promoted it, and modded it but like all marriages love has leaked out. A few months ago I started up with BioShock, BioShock 2, Borderlands, and some others and although they are a big genre jump they are tiding me over fairly well. Its just not the same experience though. I would really like to get back to that feeling I had with OB. The wonder. The many all-nighter's. The ranting like a madman to my co-workers about how wonderful the game is. I want a new Elder Scrolls dammit!

I agree; I got the Xbox 360 specifically for Oblivion when it first came out, and to this day, it is still my favorite game (though I've since been playing it for the PC). It's easy for me to wait for other games that are on my 'favorites' list, like Halo: Reach, or Star Wars: The Old Republic. But TESV is something I just can't stand not knowing anything about.

Well, I put the "it's better to have loved and lost" idea to every aspect of my life. It's better to have drank from the sweet cup of hope only to get the fiery liquid [censored] later than to have spurned the wondrous draught.

You needn't worry about that. At this point they will not be denying or confirming any rumors or tales as they are going to sit back and watch their magnificent PR machine (our collective imaginations) run rampant and generate much more buzz than a silly announcement ever could.

What we really need is someone living near their offices to go snoop around in their paper recycling bin. They might find some meeting minutes about TES V.
