You don't download it... you just look at it.

Is there any possibility of getting the CS Wiki translated into other languages (i know someone who wants to start modding but his english isn't developed enough, his primary language is Swedish)

Hmm I could try translating some of the pages into Russian, but there are simply too many articles for a solitary human.

P.S. I really admire the design of those pages.

I'm a programmer, but new to game modding. I found the TES CS Wiki site and wanted to say thank you!

The first "Beginner's Guide" for this newbie was absolutely perfect. Easy to read and follow, yet full of great information.

Thank you.

I think that this page should be cleaned up and insert space in between each package detail then it would be easier to read..

Well the whole idea of a wiki is that you can improve the pages yourself very easy by clicking the edit button at the top of each page. So feel yourself free to do so :)

OK i have a question concerning Oblivion's TES CS...
I want to know whether or not this TES CS is official or not and whether or not mods could let a hacker into my
pc. (becouse my friend is paranoid about un-official mods.

Is Oblivion's TES CS owned by Bethesda Softworks?

I disagree. While the CSWiki provides the information one needs to "mod", much of it is dispersed into different tutorials and there doesn't seem to be a decent scripting tutorial. Many of the tutorials are rather crappy and some don't even use the correct terminology, making understanding harder quite unnecessarily.

I have to disagree with ya there fooman...

The CS wiki i think is a great resource... :)

With most of the scripting commands for easy access and i think there is enough scripting tutorials. There are my first script, ect. They are what taught me to script.

I think most of the tutorials are worded well and sometimes they are hard to understand but that is usually because the things people are trying to say are quite complex and hard to put into sentences.

Very nice job :goodjob: on the wiki...

Okay, go ahead. :) Sure it's an invaluable resource, but the documentation for some functions is quite minimal and the AI behavior could be documented much more. The third part of the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Script_Timers_and_Logic:_Part_3 has been "coming" for 3 months now and still not there yet. :P

The quest and dialog articles are quite good, but many others are rather poorly written. While they manage to usually deliver the message, the process could be more efficient. Many of them are also written in the first person and contain lots of irrelevant commentary on personal experiences.

They are also presented as finished work, all of the above being very un-wiki-like properties. They certainly don't invite anyone to edit them to make them better. You do learn a lot be just trying stuff out and examining existing plugins and the game itself, but the CS Wiki might do well with more in-depth advanced subject articles.

I've been poring through the Custom Sword in Blender tutorial there and I have to say this desperately needs to be updated and probably rewritten. A lot of the Blender portion, especially UV Mapping, is skipped over and rushed through (which I eventually found out by researching my own material for it). Following it step by step would NOT get you anything resembling a proper UV Map.

About half the instructions for Nifskope refer to commands and nodes that don't exist, among other frustrations. Not to mention, opening Nifskope in two windows as suggested lasts about 2 minutes, then it crashes. The author keeps referring to "the latest version" of Blender and Nifskope, yet never mentions what they think that version is... whatever it is, it's not the current latest version.

I don't know, after 3 days of mucking through this I'm giving up. The wiki might be great but this tutorial really needs some help.

There's one thing I've noticed while using the Wiki: There isn't a "Go" button. On Wikipedia and other major wikis, when you type the name of an article into the search box and hit enter, It will go to the page if one with that title exists. Could this function be implemented for the CS Wiki?

Several of the tutorials could use clean-up, rewording and correction of used terminology. However, now it seems the whole CSWiki has been abandoned six months ago. Still no third part of scripting tutorial, nothing about CS 1.2 and no advanced tutorials or pretty much anything new added. It seems no-one bothers about it anymore? Who is in charge over there? I could do some work myself, but I think it just may be a lost cause. I know, I am being very negative here, but I see little reason not to be... I wish the advanced modders who know a lot of stuff would contribute!

Is it possible to download or copy TES CS Wiki and open it on a computer which doesn't have internet connection?

Not really. Wiki uses special software including a database server. It would kinda be possible to download each single page as a ready-built HTML page, but I am told wget doesn't support wiki sites - other than that it's a great tool for making local copies of entire websites (even functional copies).

A offline CS wiki would be a great idea.
I guess you can make one yourself. There are some tools you make offline copies of websites.

Btw the info on the Rand Command in the oblivion wiki is wrong, Rand is not even recognised in the editor as a command. It always produces an unknown command error.

It's an OBSE function. Probably got removed from the OBSE category whilst the rearrangement was going on.
