TES4Edit cleaning instructions

I wanted a week ago to try this but reading his http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=plugin_cleaning_basic he had a phrase that didn't match what I was seeing in the program.
I found the more verbatim CS Wiki page that cleared it up. I want to start top>down as http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/TES4Edit_Cleaning_Guide says, starting with Jog_X_Mod.esm, for Thievery in the Imperial City; thievery.esp).
I want to make sure I am starting this correctly so this is what I have so far:

1. Only bottom master checkbox is checked, and only oblivion.esm and jog_x_mod.esm are enabled. Since Thievery.esp is part of the mod, do I load that as well first or do jog first, then load thievery.esp and clean that next?

"Top down" means literally what it says. That you start with each ESM and work down, one by one. You'll find very quickly that most of them are already fine, which is as it should be.

When you get to the ESPs, same treatment. Load one, and one only. If it has another master, TES4Edit will automatically load that too and then you treat that ESP as you would normally.

The only time you have to be extra careful is for patches, such as the stuff for the ULs, because they won't load the other mods that they're patching in a lot of cases. That's why the general advice is not to clean patch ESPs because it's too easy to make a mistake there and break something.

I figured the ULs should already be done. All those various IC area RR/LTPD, etc I wasn't going to touch.
I also will go by that CS Wiki list of already cleaned mods.

Thievery / Jog was not listed so I thought I would try that as a starter.

But Arthmoor - you always warned me not to clean esp that have other esp as masters?

Little known in the oblivion community but FO3edit (the renamed tes4edit) really is a big tool for Fallout. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8629 that was created by Miaximus and since the games and edit programs are so similar there is some good info in there too. There are plans to update it and Miaximus stated that he was in touch with Elminster who plans to release an update for New Vegas.

Can't believe there is not an official or continued thread for edit right now.

I'd be very suspicious of that list - I don't trust it.

Mods could have since been cleaned or even yet the new relases of a mod have not when at one time they were.

It takes but less than a minute to check how clean a mod is and it is good practice before adding any mod that is new to do that.

But yeah I agree Arthmoor's mods are pretty much a sure bet.

Is it just that this enhanced file is bugged? It always gives bash rebuild error notes and I was told to essentially ignore them in another thread.

I was going to try and merge these plugins together as per my merging thread.

Yeah I had similar problems with that mod and so have others reported it as such.

Battlehorn was all around a let down - http://oblivionsrealestate.com/Find_A_Home/Castles/castles.html - that are free (in real life that is).

Head on over to my merged problem thread. I tried doing just the main and patch plugins and get errors.

I was thinking of removing that DLC and others that have nothing to do with my thief and rearranging my SM Plugin Refurbish if I can get these things to merge properly.

You probably just need to delete the [REFR:01012EC4] (places NULL - Null Reference [00000000] record before saving.
