Hi all,

Oblivion folder was moved from Program Files to C:\Oblivion under Vista Home. Game runs OK.

Now when TES4Edit tries to launch it stops saying there is no correct path(ie to Program Files).

Unistalling and reinstalling TES4Edit did not help.

How to solve that? Any help appreciated.

This happened to me other day. It has to do with your ini file and starting the game.
Start your game up so it will write to it.

No it doesn't. If you move the Oblivion folder but don't update your Windows Registry (which contains the installation path for the game) then all 3rd party modding utilities will fail to work. This includes TES4Edit and TES4Gecko. You need to edit the Registry to update the installation path so that it points to the new location of the Oblivion folder - or move the folder back again - or reinstall the game so that it updates the Registry itself (backup your data folder first).

Well that is what fixed it for me. I have never moved my installation.

If you're not comfortable with doing registry edits, or not familiar with it, it's safes to properly uninstall the game and then reinstall it to the new location. Chances are you'll need to put the thing back where it was before in order for the uninstall to work.

With Windows programs, it's generally not a good idea to move things around like that manually because the registry has no idea what you're up to.
