[WIPz] TESA Clutterers Guild

Post » Thu May 05, 2011 9:46 am

I would like to notify you about this nice project that Grond started at TES Alliance.
Basically, we're creating various clutter items for decorating and cluttering Oblivion.

I think that most modders here will find it interesting.
I would like to invite members to join and maybe some could suggest items to the list or even create some and add to the compilation.

It will be a modder's resource once certain number of items are gathered.

Link: http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/topic/2490-the-clutterers-guild/

You can also see stuff I made for it by clicking on the Photobucket link in my signature and checking album "Learning Blender". :)

The list of items created so far (some pics may be very wip and/or outdated, check TESA thread for more):

There was also some talk about different kind of cluttering team where users that make quest mods or similar and need to have their interiors cluttered would submit their requests to "clutterers" who would decorate their interiors. (don't look at me, I find that mostly p in the a - but I would submit my interiors for cluttering, if I'd had some)
So, I'm interested in opinions about that kind of service. Like it? Don't like it?

Sure. More stuff is always good. If you can find any of my clutter items feel free to add them. ;)

This is a great idea. I have a list of about a hundred clutter items and architectural statics queued for my own mod, but I'd love to be able to borrow from the 'community chest'. We need some way to standardize the model and texture file paths so people only have to dl the resources once instead of every time a modder uses one of the assets. If I can find some time, I'll contribute some of my own assets, but I'm pretty busy at the moment so don't hold your breath.

Oh, I'd also love to see some more flora, even if they are just tweaked versions of the originals (like the four different kinds of fly amanita). I'm planning on doing this myself if no one else does, but I'd be happy to pass it off to someone else. :)

We have thought of that (standardising folders for this project), but I'd leave the details for thread on TESA forum. I glad that you like the project and have ideas. :)

Isn't Cliffworms creating something similar in the Oblivifall series of mods? I think he's almost done too...

EDIT: On OP request...

I'm not sure if I understand what do you mean.
We are:
i) creating a collection of misc items modder's resources
ii) discussing a possibility of offering the services of decorating interiors by some talented modders in that field to modders that are making large quest mods with lots of interiors that aren't the main focus of the mod

while Cliffworms is creating series of mods that add various game features present in Daggerfall.

And could you please edit the post so that it doesn't include whole first post for adding a single line?

Like, considerably. I'm all in favor of new shops that sell new things, and new textures (not replacements) for old item ideas--like differently styled ceramic containers--and new items altogether.

Suggest items? Sure:

1) A wooden (and other textures) box that can be opened and closed on a hinge, with the five basic soul gems inlaid on a bed of velvet.

2) Wall-mounted display cases, with snap-to for weapons/armor. (I've seen something like this in the Rift mod, but nowhere else.)

3) A jar of fireflies. A large crystal ball of living, moving butterflies.

4) A terrarium with active life cycles.

5) A picture that shows the sunrise...and high in the sky...and setting, depending on the part of the day in the world.

6) A saw. Survey tools. A wrench.

7) A mousetrap.

8) A drink that visually fizzes. Another that smokes.

9) A portable light that slowly cycles through various colors.

10) Thimbles. Needles. Darning thread.

11) An eight-ball, with a host of ridiculous predictions.

12) Perfectly useless but attractive metal coins in various shapes and colors from other lore-friendly areas of the world.

Few ideas. Hope those are of some use. :)

I would

a.) - LOVE more clutter items
b.) - LOVE a cluttering-service
c.) - Be happy to make some stuff for this if I come up with anything that falls within the scope of my abilities :P

This is a great thread, and I hope it comes to full fruition ;)

1. Pitchforks.
2. Hay bails that aren't archery targets.
3. Saddles, and the hooks you can hang them from in a barn/stable/whatever.
4. Better looking feeding stalls than the vanilla junky ones we have now.
5. Milk buckets.
6. Weather vanes.
7. Wood piles.
8. Meat hooks.
9. Plows.

Any other farming tools I've missed. Basically anything that can be used to make a somewhat more realistic looking farm.

Thanks for nice suggestions. Issue that I have with those hay bails is that I think that there weren't any before tractors and it's mechanisations.
I know of box hay bails and cylinder hay bails and I saw them in real life and even made them as a kid with my grandfather in the country who has had some cows. But I know that they were made with some thingie that was attached to tractor.

What I really want is a hay stack like http://www.simkovich.org/photogallery/Photos/Simkovich%20Family/1/13%20Anna%20%28niece%20of%20Alek%29%20raking%20around%20the%20haystack%20%28kapitsa%29.jpg or http://www.hope.ac.uk/images/stories/ssss/geography/hayrick.jpg. And I'll add it to my TO DO list.

Clarification: Didn't realize that OP meant a Clutter Guild to prepare a modders resource. OTOH, povuholo (not cliffowrms) is making the Cluttermonkey Guild as part of Kragenir's Death Quest 2.0... see here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1084614-relzkragenirs-death-quest-106-thread-6/

Well the citizens of Tamriel are resourceful. Perhaps they found a way to make bails? But yeah, stacks would work too :)

I have made a few maps of this type. Retextures actually using Arena poster as a base. LOL They look quite good though.
Here is a screenie showing them.

http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/uploads/1260250373/gallery_86_22_28741.jpg

They're all available in my resource pack here: http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/396-reds-flea-market/
and of course Grond knows his Clutter team are more than welcome to include them in whatever release they eventually make. :foodndrink:

This is a great idea! In fact, I could use several of the items in your spoiler text in a mod I'm making at the moment. Any chance of getting them individually if I PM you which ones?

Most of these are also on my list. I'd also like to add
1. wheelbarrels
2. hay wagons
3. granaries
4. wood-working tools
5. pottery wheel
6. spinning wheel
7. loom
8. harness for horses/oxen (doesn't have to be functional)
9. loose wagon wheels
10.iron ingots, spikes, and horseshoes
11. dung
12. hay/dirt/dung landscape texture
13. a cloud of flies that works like the firefly animated statics with a matching fly-buzzing sound
14. wheat/barley/oats/etc., crop grasses
I could add dozens more, but these happen to be useful to me in the area I'm working on atm. I'll do 'em myself eventually if I have to.

Nice suggestions, thanks! I hope that someone will join and help making them (either new models or retextures of the stuff that we have).

Omegacron, you should ask Grond - he's in charge. :)

Edit:
@Magician: check out Meo's Settlement set, it's great and it has some stuff from your list.

That looks good, would be better still if the haystack didn't curve inward at the bottom. more natural for them to curve outward as they reach the ground.

The sawhorse and log are great!

Building on that, an http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Yale%27s_Hartmann_astrolabe.jpg would be cool too. Some else already did a http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8223.
