ok so i made a map, typed some stuff in such as location (i cant remeber what) and looked at it in the cs, to find it's underwater....... is there any reason for this? i mean the heightmap looks like it should, and the code i entered should work, but in the cs it's in region paint: a big square, in render window: underwater i dont know what i did wrong.........i'm new to this heightmap stuff so i have no clue what to do :banghead: any heads up?

Why make a thread for this and not simply asking SGMonkey? He is the most experianced guy I know in TESAnnwyn, except Lightwave! :whistling:

Might have something to do with the fact that wollibeebee didn't know that?

Use the -h function in your command. For example, -h 2500 will raise your heightmap by 2500 game units. The status bar in the CS shows your Z coordinate in game units, so you can use that as a gauge to find out how far below sea level your heightmap is.

Tool! What did i tell ya. When using greyscale bitmaps, if your sea bed is 100% black as black can be, then your height needs to be -2048.

That is ofcource if black is going to be the lowest part in your map. But ive always found it much easier to stick to using black as the sea bed and using a height of -2048, and then any really deep water you can add in the CS, saves alot of hassle.

If you can't do something right yourself, get someone else to do it.

Wait... that isnt right...
