Whenever i try to add a new topic, the program gives me an error and shuts down. I really need to make new topics for my mod, but it doesn't seem to advance at all :D Suggestions on a fix?

Do you have win Vista/7?
If yes, plug in a micro or headset. It's the standard-hint for problems with CS under Vista/7.

Or you can use a vm with another os. I tried it with Ubuntu. There you need WINE. I can do nearly everything, just the render-window doesn't work. But I think that this is a problem caused by the vm.

Oh, I have another hint, which helped me:
Format your computer, reinstall windows 7 and the cs.
It helped. I don't know why, but now I can do everything with the cs. As mentioned in other forums, it seems to be a problem between "a software/driver/..." and the cs. But nobody can name "a software/driver/...", so it's realy hard to find a logical fix for that problem.
I can just say what others said: I reinstalled 7 and the cs and it worked correctly. I installed lots of other programs and it works. I don't know what the difference between the system before reinstall and the the system after reinstall is.
I think they are the same, perhaps with a different install-order, but I don't miss a program...

Well, I think i'll just try to re-install CS... I never actually installed it on my Win 7, I just moved the files there from my old XP :D Let's see if that helps...

Ahh - found a solution :D _DICE_ was right about the plug thing, only that the first time it didn't work. Why? Because the mic-hole had been disabled! :D Once I plugged in a plug to another mic-hole, then the CS started working properly. lol. This topic can be closed now.
