A couple of add on questions.I'll try and be clearer

Whe I make a copy of the Bash.ini. file. Do I leave the copy in the C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy Folder?

When you say Set "sOblivionMods" to the path to your "Oblivion Mods" folder, My Oblivion Mods Folder is on my desktop.
Should this read in the Bash ini
sOblivionMods=C:\desktop\oblivion mods\ ?

Checking the Paths of the other Utilities. In the ini file are they under the Tools Section? Like these?

At Bain Installation it stands:

Click on the Mods tab in Wrye Bash to initialize BAIN.
Put some mods (in compressed archives or folders) in the Bash Installers folder
Right-click on the Mods tab (Wrye Bash) and choose one of the refresh options to see the newly installed packages

I can't Right click on the mods tab, or I can but nothing happends.
ANother Question I gotten wile looking, The bash.ini file, should it just be one long line of text?

In addition Should you just put the files under the Bash Installer one and the in would appear in your mod list, have done it with Formid Finder, it's and 7Z file but nothing really happend, it's just showing the Official plugins and the Unofficial patches that I installed using an Installer coming withe the Download.

Ok have found the ?Complete Guide to Modded Oblivion (with BAIN) and decided to follow it, can I ask questions here?
Have followed the first to steps (ahevn't uninstalled OSE or BOSS but have no idea how, neither have I with TES¤ LODgen Gecko and Edit but they will maybe disapear with Oblivion?)
The step 3 I don't really get. Reinstall is just unistall and the install but what does untop of the existing setups mean?
Then step 4 Is to start -> All Programs-> Bethseda Softworks ->Oblvion and click on setup?
Then Delete the folder I get, just a question, Is this like UnInstalling Oblivion?

I'm following the same Guide.

I know some things about installing,but I'm no expert.Thats Why I'm also reading this Guide.

I think what is being explained is How to do a Clean Install.Removing programs like OBMM ect.If you leave them on you won't get a Clean install.

You need to extract from your Boss Archive,The BOSS.bat. BOSS.exe,and the Boss masterlist.txt to your oblivion/data folder.Too run it you click the Boss.bat file.
The readme file will explain better.

Hopefully Tomlong will be back soon to help us Both :grad:

I'm very sorry if this is the wrong place to post this and if this problem has already been discussed but i couldn't find it if it has.
OK so I'm running through the guide everything is going fine, I've followed it to the letter as far as i can see, until it gets to installing MMM.
When I activated it it gives the warning message about how it detects Fran and OOO but not FCOM and reminds me i need to install FCOM
for it. Now I'm assuming that its just a reminder not a "You 'must' install FCOM first" as in this guide it says to install FCOM after MMM.
So i go through the install and I'm reading the guide and its not giving me any of the MMM for OOO options specifically 'Diverse skulls'
as I need that for previous saves to work. Again I'm sorry for what will likely turn out to be my own stupidity, I did think about installing
FCOM before it to see if that was it but since trying to guess my way through is what caused me to have to go through all this again I decided
to ask first. All constructive criticism welcome.

I'm very sorry if this is the wrong place to post this and if this problem has already been discussed but i couldn't find it if it has.
OK so I'm running through the guide everything is going fine, I've followed it to the letter as far as i can see, until it gets to installing MMM.
When I activated it it gives the warning message about how it detects Fran and OOO but not FCOM and reminds me i need to install FCOM
for it. Now I'm assuming that its just a reminder not a "You 'must' install FCOM first" as in this guide it says to install FCOM after MMM.
So i go through the install and I'm reading the guide and its not giving me any of the MMM for OOO options specifically 'Diverse skulls'
as I need that for previous saves to work. Again I'm sorry for what will likely turn out to be my own stupidity, I did think about installing
FCOM before it to see if that was it but since trying to guess my way through is what caused me to have to go through all this again I decided
to ask first. All constructive criticism welcome.


Before I attempted my above config, I followed his BAIN base fcom install guide and only had some problems due to my inexperience with bash stuff. I'd suggest you give that method a shot as it sounds like your doing a full manual install.

That is fine by me. Would you mind briefing me on your status? I need to catch up on this thread. I will get through it either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how the site updates go.

What exactly did you do? How did you merge them?


Edit: OOOhh. I did not see your picture at first; or, rather, I did not notice that that was the picture...anyway... Is your load order already sorted? If it is, that is fine. Open up TES4Edit, make sure that that merged plugin is checked (whatever else is checked does not matter) right-click on the merge (after it finishes loading the resources) and choose sort masters (near the middle of the context menu I think.) Just exit and save, and everything will be blue. The masters simply are not loaded in the order in which the merged plugins dependencies (based on the order in which you merged the separate patches) were merged.


Edit: When I merged them, I made the mistake of uninstalling the entire package in BAIN, when the merged plugin was still looking for that one mesh that is also included in the patches download. Do not forget to install that.

I will put a note about that on the merging page. That is one I should not have missed, so thank you for that.

But inside some ruins I find a massacre :) Several npcs from the Outlaw, Marauder faction already dead...NPCs fighting each other.. is this to be expected?

Since you are just starting out, try the new instructions, and just go straight to the installers tab. The bash.ini modification step is optional. The whole purpose is to move the Oblivion Mods folder (which contains the Bash Installers) folder to a location separate from your Oblivion install. I need to be more clear about that. The v275 installer, if you used it, takes care of the shortcut and the rest of the bash.ini settings. If you only used the archive version, then you may need to make some extra changes, but it is simple to first use the installer, and then extract the latest archive version on top of it.

Last I spoke with him, AmpolX said he would probably just continue using TESNexus. I am really looking forward to any updates, or even just reuploads of what I did not manage to download before the pull. As for the OMOD info, BAIN already knows to skip that. I do not think that skipping that folder will result in light grey highlight (indicating a package contains skipped files.)

I am going to. I downloaded them a couple months ago. It covers textures my extensive collection does not already cover too, and that is exciting. ^____^ It will be in my updated BAIN list. Don't worry. I will have to extend that visual enhancements guide soon too, and I will include it there as well. It is nice that it sticks to the vanilla size, especially for people not building a new system this summer. ;)

Just follow the instructions; pack it like everything else. You should not have a FraNewCrea BSA though, just the FraNewItems BSA. Delete the other one. Make sure you only have the two ESMs, and not the creatures ESM too. Check that other guide linked there, the FiveFries one, for pictures and a sanity check.
