TESIV:POSItive Installation Guides

Just follow the instructions; pack it like everything else. You should not have a FraNewCrea BSA though, just the FraNewItems BSA. Delete the other one. Make sure you only have the two ESMs, and not the creatures ESM too. Check that other guide linked there, the FiveFries one, for pictures and a sanity check.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I haven't installed the new Creatures yet.It downloaded as a BSA.

These are the instructions that come with it.

This is Part 2 of Frans Optional Files 4.5 BSA archive for Frans New Items.
This BSA requires Part 1 as it does not include meshes or icons. Make sure you download both item BSA archives.
The original BSA has been split in order to upload it to mirror sites.
USE only with the 4.5 or 4.5b version of Francesco's Leveled Items Creatures Mod.
I repeat. This is for Version 4.5 or 4.5b of Frans mod.

This BSA requires the use of a 'dummy' esp named Fra.esp or maunal update to the Oblivion.ini file
The sArchive list where the Oblivion.bsa files are listed should have Fra - NewCrea.bsa added to the end of it.
It should look like this:
sArchiveList= Oblivion - Meshes.bsa, Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa, Oblivion - Sounds.bsa, Oblivion - Voices1.bsa, Oblivion - Voices2.bsa, Oblivion - Misc.bsa, Fra - NewItems1.bsa, Fra - NewItems2.bsa

If you use the dummy .esp file (this is a esp with a single record in it) then the above is not needed.

I don't quit understand what it means.Sorry.

Do not follow those instructions. Please, only follow the instructions in the guide. You should have just downloaded the two Fran executables, no separate BSAs.

Edit: The link to the Fran EXEs (at PES) are in Step#1.

Hi - I plan to reinstall oblivion (with BAIN) and I want to add shivering isles this time - mostly to play some great mods that require it. I'd like to make a "dual boot" install though so I'd be able to test my plugins etc - using Wrye Bash which has an
Oblivion.esm > 1.1 > S.I. ; grayed out in my case

menu button in its Mods tab.
How should I go about it ? I am not a newbie so do not take the trouble to explain basic things - some quick instructions/tips should suffice :)
I though I should do it like :
1. Install Ob
2. Patch Ob to 1.2.416
3. Rename ob.esm to ob_1.1.esm
4. Install SI
5. Patch SI to 1.2.416

This last step betrayed me though cause I am getting the :
---------------------------Patch Error---------------------------Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match.---------------------------ΟΚ ---------------------------
when the patch tries to patch the readme.txt

You have to duplicate and rename. You cannot get rid of the Oblivion.esm. SI just patches it. You can delete the ReadMe.

Edit: This is all I found on the dual boot. http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=122550&view=findpost&p=1029844 If you make a thread with that in the title, I am sure someone could tell you where to look or how to do it.

Wow thanks sfast
Yes, I meant

1. Install Ob
2. Patch Ob to 1.2.416
3a Copy Ob.esm to Ob-copy.esm
3. Rename Ob-copy.esm to ob_1.1.esm
4. Install SI
5. Patch SI to 1.2.416

The last step betrayed me though -if I delete the readme I get an error like file not found - I need a version of the readme but I know not which - or don't I need the patch ?
Thanks :)

EDIT : I got the above procedure straight from the WB readme - apart from the patches part

Oh, okay. In that case, you do not need to use the patch. The SI patch and the Oblivion patch only differ because the SI install changes FormIDs in the Oblivion.esm. The patch does not do anything special to the SI records.

Great - thanks. So Oblivion.esm once patched to 1.2.416 and then converted to Oblivion[SI].esm stays patched alright (and can be used with OBSE etc). Thanks :goodjob:

Hi Tomlong.

Me again.Sorry

I've finally worked out how to Extract Frans in to the Bash Installers Folder.

I'm at the stage of being asked which components I wish to install. Do I choose Full or Custom Installation please?

Thank you very much.

Full or custom? What? I did not even know it had options like that. What do you mean by extract Frans? It is an executable. Yous should be running the EXE, not unpacking anything... I am kind of confused. You definitely do not want to install all of it. What are you installing?

I've Create a folder in the Bash Installers folder for Frans (ie., "Fran 4.5b").
Run the FrancescosLeveledCreaturesItemsMod.exe to go into the folder I've created Named Fran 4.5b.
I've said yes to the first few options, such as
hardcoe Loot
Lyondor's Combat Behavior
I'm now at the section where I'm asked "Which components should be installed" Full or Custom installation.
There are a number of differant Group options to choose from.Such as:
Optional Group 1. Francesco's optional leveled Quests.Francesco's leveled Arena,Francesco's leveled Gaurds.
Group 2 Francesco's optionalHhouse Chests,etc
There are at least 4 Groups to fully or custom install,

The .exe is not being installed in the Oblivion/data folder. It is going to C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\Fran 4.5b Folder.

I hope this is a bit clearer.

You do not want full. You should not be choosing almost any extra options. You have to pick custom. Just find the options I mentioned in the guide.

Required
(Required) Optional Items Add-on
(Required) Optional Chance of Stronger Bosses
(Required) Optional Chance of Stronger Enemies

Required if using FRAN's SI option (not SI in general)
Optional Chance of More Enemies
Optional Leveled Guards

Break up? I did not multi quote. I just clicked the little quote button (second button to the right of the smileys) and pasted the text I wanted to quote between the quote tags...? :)

Thank you once again for the Advice.

I'm Bound to mess it up lol :shakehead:

Talking of messing up. I'm at the bottom of the Guide.Renamed BSA. Seems OK.

The Rest.Not so good!

Copy the Readme up out of the "Francesco's" folder into the main folder. I don't see any readme .The only one I can see is for Frans Living Economy HTML.

Fran 4.5b - simple package
Fran Leveled Creatures-Items Mod ESM, Fran Optional New Items Add-on ESM, Fran Optional Chance of Stronger Bosses ESP, Fran Optional Chance of Stronger Enemies ESP, (Fran SI) Fran Optional Chance of More Enemies ESP, (Fran SI) Fran Optional Leveled Guards, FCOM_Francescos.bsa

I do not see any (Fran SI) Versions of the appropriate .esp's :shakehead:

I think I see where I've gone wrong.Can I just Delete the folder I created.Then start again?

I thing i either need to go to Specsavers for better glasses or Bed as its almost 5am lol

Thank you again for your patience. At this rate I'll end up a Patient lol. :lmao:

There should not be a Fran SI version. That "tag" means that users that chose the SI version should have those ESPs, and you users that did not choose the Fran SI option should not have those ESPs.

Tags you may see around the site: (Optional) (Wrye Bash) (BAIN) (Vista) (Win7 || Vista) (BAIN || Optional) ...etc. very consistent...

Hi tomlong !
Was looking at the OOO BAIN conversion guide - shouldn't there be an option for Living Economy - No Barter pvssyr ESP ? Also Living Economy features also in the 02 Options Only for LITE subpackage - should it be deleted from there ?
Thanks :)

edit : also the 00 Docs is skipped - moved the docs to the top level so they are immediately reachable too

that's how I organized it - suggestions welcome (I think I am going to publish a couple of BFCs soon lol) :

LE is not an OOO option. OOO just has it bundled with 1.33. It is the whole separate LE mod. There is a newer version available from TESNexus anyway. The Leveled rate plugins are outdated too. Use Progress instead. As for OMOBS, the point is that that it is for users that use the UOP Supplemental. It does not matter which version of the supplemental is current. The only reason OOO/FCOM users need that module now is that there is no OMOBS version of the UOP Supplemental. Once there is a more final version of it, CorePC may work on changing that, but since the OMOBS modules can be imported, deactivated and ghosted, it is not as if the plugin count would change.

I did not specify the options. I just said take the LE mod. That barter pvssyr module is part of the mod.

Do I need to use an omobs version of 3.2.0 then ? Where do I download this ? Remember I only use OOO at the mo

Those are the docs. That is all I meant. If you look at the HTML, that is the ReadMe... You can copy whichever of those docs you want or none at all. The guides would become unreasonably long if I included every exactly file name. ReadMes and documentation, its all the same to me. They server the same purpose. Did you try clicking on any of those?

Edit: The HTM (not HTML) is the ReadMe file.

Edit: I will change the Fran step to say docs. It has been forever since I have installed Francesco's mod. I knew that the docs were in a folder though... Oh, well. I'll make the change anyway. With BAIN, it would probably be best to stick that Fran folder in an additional folder, Docs, so that BAIN places the entire folder there, instead of either slopping all of it loose into the Docs folder or installing Fran's folder in the Data folder.

Is that new...huh...probably. I only take care to mark the buggy tweaks. I have not heard of any new additions being buggy yet.

COBL Races already includes a full range of cosmetic mods. It is not compatible with BP. If you are not talking about using COBL Races, then you can just install BP without a problem. What is the issue?

Issue is mods that require BP. Looking for ways around that. I've found some new info so I am immersed in it right now. I will get back to you if I can't figure it out. I also asked a related question in the Cobl Races thread so if your bored, you can follow it there. :read:
