I will add the bit about the hardware acceleration. That is important. However, I think you can get a card to meet that requirement for a price near to that value, and there is always Ebay when you are looking for cheap. I got an X-FI Xtreme Gamer sound card for a price I cannot even remember off the top of my head.

I am going to update your page now. Thanks for the updates.

Edit: missed the link, thanks

Edit: FPS ranges? Also, the bottom section is for anything without an ESP you want mentioned.

Oh, you've been updating formats. Ok.

FPS Range Cities: 10-30.
FPS Other 20-30

Both capped by OSR, so it never drops under 10 or goes over 30.

I also keep forgetting what OBSE plugins I'm using, so Elys Silent Voice 0.93, Conscribe, and FastExit2 should be there too.

Got me if the estimate on 3-4 hours between crashes is right, as long as I stay clear of the SE area around Kvatch the game seems content to play on. I'll have to see if I can find my ginormous list of non-ESP mods, because it's pretty big and I remember saving it in a text file for that very reason :)

Yup, trying to keep things fresh...I am curious about what is in that list now... :P ...but I will have to retire before you post it here, probably. Thank you for the updates.

Cool! Post your updated load order here tomorrow with your latest info, haha.

Good night!
- Tomlong75210

Hello! I have a SIGNIFICANT UPDATE for you! (Did I set that off enough? maybe some exclamation points are needed, or something?)

Seriously though, my experience today is quite a bit different from yesterday, and in a good way. The main thing, I am convinced, was your catch of those two plugins I had running that added AI scripts every time I encountered NPCs. That change alone made such a huge difference, it is pretty staggering. I mentioned to you the fight I got into in Sercen before calling it a night, and how the FPS never dipped below 10. That in itself is awesome. But it gets better...

As you know, I've been trying to find the last little bits of extra juice that I can squeeze out of my system. This has led me to toying around some with OSR and the algorithms available. I had thought that I had found the best fit for my system with his algorithm 5. Well, it occurred to me this morning that some of what I had been seeing in game may have been due more to those AI plugins than anything else, and figured this might be good time to try different settings w/ OSR again. So I switched it back to algorithm 1, using the included BorlandMM DLL. Wow. I mean, really, wow! Holy crap, what a huge difference. I could go on and on about how smooth it is, and almost completely stutter-free. Yes, it gets down around 10 FPS in those heavier AI moments, but never below and it stays smooth! I feel like I am finally seeing what OSR was really meant to do.

Like I said, I could go on and on. It is that big of a difference, and that's without getting a sound card yet. This morning after I made my tweaks and tested, I played for 4 hours straight... no CTD, no nothing! 4 hours. I may have to update my average playing time before CTD soon if this keeps up, another good thing!

OK, so that's the update. But I am sure you'd like to have the updated load order, as well as the non-plugin mods and OBSE addons for my build. So, here you go... This is up to this morning, and I think it has everything I was lacking last night. I still will be updating playing time and FPS rates, as both have improved significantly, but I'm not sure exactly how much just yet.

OBSE: updated to 0018 stable this morning
Elys Uncapper, Elys Universal Silent Voices, Enhanced Music Control, Fast Exit 2, Pluggy, OSR (w/ Component DLLs needed for algorithm 1)

Are you using OSR v4.1? It includes the component DLLs by default. They are only used if you activate the relevant heap setting of course.

Edit: I saw that you already said you had v4.1...I guess you just opted not to install the DLLs...okay, I am just happy to hear that things are running so well.

@Arthmoor: If you see this, I would like to add the bit about the OSR settings changes you made, and maybe even some of your LAA experience.

Yes, I am. I probably should have left that out, but I was trying to think of everything. Still, I don't want to confuse anyone. I have tweaked the heap settings, but that's really outside the scope of my load order and installed mods. Yeah, probably best to leave that part out.

Actually, I think the OSR heap settings are quite relevant, not to mention interesting. I plan to get a page up for OSR INI tweaks in the future. What version of Pluggy are you using? I am going to change the OBSE format to that of the other list-type sections.

I am running Pluggy 1.32. I believe it is the dev version, but one of the mods I'm running required it (can't recall which right now... and it may not have been that it required 1.32 per se, but just a higher version than 1.25b. I just can't remember... I'll see if I can dig that back up).

I'm just going to say, thanks for the effort you're putting into this. This is the most informative compilation of mod related situations I've seen to date. I refer to it quite often, and have learned things I have not known for sometime now. I definitely like the high emphatic warnings too.

Thank you. I am glad I finally managed to get the name changed to something a little more telling too.

If you have any suggestions for more topics you want to see, please let me know. <-- I should probably add this to the first post...I think I will....

Sure, something like this?

Stability for this load order was not fully achieved until setting up OSR 4.1 using Heap 5 with a memory heap size of 1024. With the number of graphic enhancements installed, the normal settings were insufficient to avoid crashing due to memory overloads. Some people are able to get better performance using Heap 1, but in my setup that causes the game to crash after only a short time playing.

I've already said this elsewhere, but I'm making use of Tomlong's guides, at the moment particularly the FCOM install guide, and maaaaaaan... I am so happy this exists. I wish I would have had it the first time I installed FCOM last year. I'm practically in tears because it's so easy to follow. It's like being told you have to run 5 miles in an hour and thinking, "Okay, I'm in good shape; I can do it if I have to. Man this is going to svck, but people are depending upon me, and I gotta do it..." and then someone pulling up beside you in a car and being like, "Man, you need a ride, bro?"

And you're like YESSS I need a ride!! Thank you so much!

Okay, bad anology, could be the tea talking, but this guide is great. Should be stickied (or maybe it is and I didn't notice!).

Although my display drivers were not shutting off - removing needless background processes associated with Nero 7 as described http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1085521-display-driver-has-stopped/page__view__findpost__p__15824938 and http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Software_Utilities/Disable_Nero_Scout_in_Nero_7.html seems to have really cut down on ctds. I was noticing that the bloatware program nero scan would have excessive CPS use and in the task manager after a crash I would see 1,500,000 K usage.

Also configuring my virus protection for gaming helped a lot.

Still more work to do but finally got the game so that I could run hog-wild across many cells without a crash.

Thank you for the info Psymon. I will not this on the Stabilization or Optimization page (or both). Your name is already on the "Acknowledgments" page, but I guess I can switch your thank you to "more than can be listed here...". :D

RE: Acknowledgments - not even necessary for me - I'm powered by caffeine, not praise. But thanks

Might want to note that you thank both Display Name is in Use and Vorians - even though they are one and the same.
