TesNexus is down, any alternatives?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:34 am

Hopefully this is a very temporary situation, but I was trying to download the Oblivion Mod Manager, and unfortunately, Texnexus is currently down (the webserver responds with a mysql error). Anyone know of any other site which mirrors most of the stuff hosted by tesnexus? I'm afraid quite a lot of mods will be unavailable if Nexus stays down for any period of time.

I guess I should have mentioned. I checked planetelderscrolls, and they don't seem to have OBMM. Wondering what other things TexNexus is the only source for. . .

Anyhow, I found a copy of OBMM on my hard drive from a previous download (forgot I still had it), so I'm in luck for that, but might not be in luck for other mods. Well, hope they get the problem sorted soon.

They've been having some issues off and on for a while. Seems to be related to some of the redesign they've been going through. Anyway, I was getting MySQL connection errors a bit ago... if that's the issue, they will likely have it back up soon.

OBMM is hosted on Sourceforge now. I don't have a link handy, but there is one in the OP of the OGE thread. The link's for OBGE, but it's hosted at the same place.

Sourceforge only seems to have the source code for OBMM, not a compiled version.

Yeah, it seems like they've been having some problems on and off, and I noticed some changes to the layout recently. They are usually back up before too long. Hopefully, 'cause PES seems to have mostly older files in comparison. That and Nexus usually has more screenshots of stuff and generally more(and less) informative comments. ;)

I was out for dinner and the cinema this evening and have only just gotten back. Sods law that it went down about 30 minutes after I left the house for the night. The site is back up now; looks like a private network issue.

Off to bed as I'm very tired. Hopefully it won't crop up again once Im asleep.

Off topic; being pretty old and from Montreal, a certain Richard, Rocket, #9 is something of a sports (and since hockey is the official religion in Montreal)/cultural icon. Any connection? And yes, last time I tried TES Nexus was down again. Happily I managed to get my downloads done in the brief intervals they have been up.
