TESO *will* fail if there is no engaging end game content.

Post » Wed Feb 26, 2014 11:35 pm

..no. The reports given quarterly are active subs, not people who own the game. If that were the case, the reports would be over 100 million, because they've sold over 100 million copies of their game.

Please don't talk about what you have no clue on.

She didn't say that,
She said people are pressured by elitists and some people don't want more than 20 people.

100k lolol where do you get your numbers? There is obviously more PVP players than that in WOW.. PVE content in the ESO is more then enough no need to panic and attack the other important part of any MMO PVP.

I share your concerns, its the reason why I'm not buying the game at release. I have zero faith in Adventure Zones at the moment, knowing virtually nothing about them so close to release should always have the warning bells ringing.

The PvP does look great but that is something I would look to do in my spare time when I'm not PvE'ing, a game that is built around it will not keep me around.

im hoping PVP will be the engaging endgame content

my favorite game to date (DAOC) failed when they started adding to much pve raid content

will a game focusing on PVP endgame end up as popular as WOW, maybe not, but thats not needed to be a success

There is no pressure because any developer worth their salt develops raids that can fluctuate in participants, like Blizzard with Flex raiding.

It seems that Zeni is taking the low road with various MMO technologies, however, not implementing any flex raiding, no phased zones, I mean, it's like they're developing an MMO to be what WoW was in 2006.

There is NO reason to not have phased zones. No reason at all.

It's sad how anyone who posts on the forums that they desire challenging end game content they get labelled a troll. Really shows you the quality of the community here.

Just don't feed the troll guys. A poster who recently made an account with his first post saying he did not participate in the beta, implicitly saying he is a WoW fan later on his posts, is clearly a troll.

I already thought it was pay to play or did you mean pay for the box then play forever or free2play?

While I dont normally get involved in doomporm posts I will say that I have complete confidence that given time there will be much to do at the so called "End Game". I don't really care for PvP but it does at least look fun in ESO.

As stated earlier, its the journey that matters to me, i won't rush, I will enjoy.
I can understand your worries because we haven't seen much of what's to offer after we reach cap other that running content we may have done 8x over on ALTs but you can be sure their will be dailies and they have already said that dungeons will scale and continue the story.

On a side note. Please don't ever mention Wow and ESO in the same sentance as all they really have in common is 3 letters and that's MMO. Don't get me wrong, wow was an amazing game and I played it for 4.5 years from beta but they killed it for me and that's why I stopped playing.

Again: people posting that they desire an MMO that has end game content (where there is currently none to speak of) = troll.

Really mature community folks. A+

see for me it the other way around

a game focused on great PVE can keep me playing for months

but a game focused on great PVP can keep me playing for years

PVE is something i like to do when the people i usually PVP with arent online

There must be a journey that gets us to level 50. But when we reach 50 we must have even more journeys and keep having fun.
Thats why endgame is important. The adventure should not stop at 50

A MMORPG focused on great PvP could probably keep me playing for...I dunno, a few days maybe? I'm not sure what it is, but PvP in MMORPGs has never hooked me or been appealing to me, and I've played a good decent number of MMORPGs by now. When I really want Player vs Player I go and play a FPS game usually. Been that way for as long as I can remember. I just don't play MMORPGs for PvP.

Blah blah blah
They've already stated there will be constantly adding new content once a month at minimum, the game hasn't even come out yet and I know no one is going to reach end game content for a little while after launch anyways, say don't complain about it until you actually have all the details. Your assuming and we all know what that makes you and me

Completely incorrect. I spelled it out for you hon, but you would have known all that already if you had been paying attention :/

*patpat* It's ok though. You don't have to play if you don't want to!

Eve disagrees with you. Planetside 2 disagrees with you.

When other players are part of the environment, PvP is PvE is PvP. The lines are blurred, and something called "emergent content" arises. And emergent content is perpetual.

When they're not, you create "omg i'm so bored when's the next update already?"

Entirely correct.

'THE JOURNEY IS THE GAME' works for F2P. NOT P2P. There must be more content to keep you engaged at the end of that leveling process. If there isn't, you're paying for nothing, will unsub, and the game will die.

No. Butts. About it.

Seriously, stop dude.

"Where there is currently none to speak of"

Do you even KNOW the game?
Oh wait, you don't and you said so yourself!

I agree with your original post - a MMO needs to have PvE content at endgame to keep PvE players subbed
It ALSO needs to have PvP content, to keep PvP players subbed

Is anyone at the endgame that can confirm or deny your apparent 'truth claims' of "NO CONTENT TO SPEAK OF"?

NO BECAUSE THE GAME IS NOT EVEN [censored] OUT YET.
