Test Resulst for Crysis2 Game Server Patch

I did a couple of tests for the said patch ( not sure if it's an imaginary or it really is patch since Cry-Adam did not announce that the patch is for client or server side ).

First Test : Anti-Cheat

You can still edit your XML file still same effect however on the second round you'll get kicked.

Result: Nice but needs improvement.
Suggestion: If the server encounters cvars, attributes, global vars etc... whatever... that deals with MP, server side defaults should always prevail and client defaults should always be ignored.


Second Test : Serial Number Generator

Damn. All I can say it has nothing to do with crack ( I could not test a crack version as I don't want to waste my bandwidth for 6 or 9 Gb file just for testing I live in a country where bandwidth is expensive too much corrupt telcos). Found a website that generates Crysis2 keys. Damn. It really works.

Result : Serial Key Checks is a failure
Suggestion : Needs new algorithm


Crytek. You should release a patch to address these security issues.

Not a chance... Don't want to get myself banned.

The point is. You can still edit your XML file with still the same effect. You get kicked after the next round however, some user I guess found a way to bypass these checks after editing their XML file.

So really the only thing Crytek needs to do is to ignore any client side defaults.

i wasted 60$... it is almost 2 weeks since pirates are playing for free. every server have 1 or two cheaters. it is UNPLAYABLE! i am already sick and tired of waiting patches from Crytek... wtf is wrong with this company? how the phuck EA alowed this? there are alot of games from EA that work amazing.

They need to make key-check SERVER SIDE, not CLIENT (major fail anyway)

client side, server side, it doesn't matter
at present the server/client has no way of knowing
if the key is real.

only option ?
make the key work like prepaid phone cards

retail: key not active till scanned at register.

online: get a key from EADM,Steam,D2D input key at gamesaskey.com,
gamesaskey.com give you real key only after cross check with EADM,Steam,D2D


though its probably a moot point.
this will most likely be the last PC game from Crytek

All they need is a server side verification to look over the xml file, and if there is any changes it will kick you.
