TESV Ideas and Suggestions #131

I think you should be able to buy carts, wagons, or chariots or something.

If you had a wagon or something you could live out of it pretty much. You wouldnt need a house.

I've been saying this for too long...

I want houses to have proper kitchens and bathrooms.

That largely depends on the house and setting though, i doubt you'd find a bathroom or even a kitchen in poor one room shack. Those would likely at max have a out house, possibly even a communal one, and use a small fireplace for all cooking.
Bigger houses could of course have those, you could even note richter houses since they have water heaters and maybe even simple water purifiers.

About house construction though, Don't put in stuff that looks obvious but can't be manipulated then. Why did the shacks in the waterfront have a basemant hatch that you couldn't open?

Im pretty sure that most of these will have been mentioned at one point in these 100+ threads but just to be sure.

1. Choices and Consequences to those choices (maybe extreme but get caught stealing from a shop owner and they will never deal with you until you directly make ammends)
2. Racial attribute/skill caps that cant be corrected by just training - eg an orc cap for agility and Bosmer cap of strength at 85 etc (these could still be overcome with enchantments
3. Realism - eg no eating, drinking, sleeping will have adverse effects on the player
4. Return to 3 armor types Light/Medium/Heavy
5. Return to Marksman also including Crossbows and Thrown Items (Knives, darts etc)
6. Be able to change the timescales for replacements (those of you that palyed Morrowind must remember those pesky ridge racers, well the same goes for creatures and NPC enemies in Oblivion. sometimes I want a return journey in 3 days time to not have the same 5 bandits attacking me every 30 sec's on the roads. The only ones that would not be included in these times would be guards that have a specific duty as they would be replaced as soon as they were found missing)

My dream would be for them to create an all encompassing landscape that includes the whole world but each country/continent would be seperate games, but one character could travel between the continents and play each of the games.

I think, as I said, that the next game will be or in Akavir, or in Skyrim. The rest will be surprise to me.

If they give you a non-prisoner starting background, they should add some of the background details from Daggerfall to spice up character creation.

it wouldnt be like that it would be like in fallout 3 where you could get a well rested bonus that just makes you stronger for a day same with food only for 6 hours in game instead of a day it wouldnt cripple you just you would fight better

  • Make combat more interesting with kicking, shield bashing, and more animations.
  • Include melee staff and spear combat with their own animations and features.
  • Allow daggers to be used for throat slitting.

  • Make magic more dynamic and interesting by varying the size of spell effects depending on how powerful the spell is, having to charge certain powerful spells before casting, and being able to turn off certain spells cast by the player and for the player by pressing the cast button again for that spell.
  • Make telekinesis more interesting by being able to click the attack button to throw objects you grab. The more powerful the spell, the heavier objects you can pick up and hurl.
  • For more powerful frost spells, temporary freezing due to being encased in ice should occur sometimes, especially if the target has a weakness to frost. More powerful shock spells should jump to different targets.
  • Alchemy should only be utilized by characters who have their skill high enough, such as having it as a major skill. Having the alchemy skill too low will not show any effects of ingredients, therefore you won't be able to craft potions. Empty bottles must be required to create a potion. Empty bottles can be reused. Potions should be slightly rarer, but more potent and longer lasting. In these ways, alchemy is not a skill in which to get tons of gold.

  • Make diseases more dangerous. There should be more degenerating effects, and eventually you would die from the disease. Cure disease and resist disease potions are more useful now.

  • Make AI smarter by reacting to certain things, such as invisibility, investigating noises and suspicious activity, an arrow that just missed them, etc.

  • Make first-person view more immersive by showing the rest of the body and showing the arms doing more things such as swimming, extended casting for certain spells such as telekinesis, etc.

Probably been said loads of times before, but PLEASE don't skimp out on lore like you did with Oblivion. I'd MUCH rather have a more empty game world with richer backstory and distinct aesthetics (like fallout 3 and morrowind) than totally homogeneous dungeons every 200 yards and almost no lore to speak of that wasn't already in morrowind somehow. What you did with fallout 3 proves that you're probably still the best studio out there at making backstory come alive, and I feel it was a pitifully under-done aspect in Oblivion.

Also, though this isn't nearly as important, "gravity gun"-style telekinesis would rule (throw any object that can be picked up). The mechanics of weapon damage for this should be simple, just create an algorithm based on the item's weight and the power of the telekinesis spell (to make sure you can only, say, kill someone with an inkwell to the head by using the most powerful spell). It makes sense gameplay-wise too; it gives magic users more diversity in their offensive skills beyond "destruction".

Well it's mostly because you can't feel what your character feels and therefor have no indication of your status other than the "bars". Most of the other stuff is simply convinience.

I say there should be an option to turn off HUD elements as you wish, however you should not be forced to have none at all.
i was joking you know, i really have no problems with them :ninja:

that i would like, but the cripple thing would get old fast... and i mean the food water and rest cripple not the dmg cripple

Well on the whole food and rest thing, a idea on taht is that it's less a base necessity but rather a bonus.

When you sleep and eat regularly, leeping your character fit, you can regenerate health, magic and fatigue faster and your wounds heal better, if you don't you can still do the "healing potions" attempt. And you wouldn't have to eat every 6 hours, in fact in older times it was even rare that people ate daily, eating every second day could be considdered regular.

The thing here could be that the more regular you eat the better your regeneration rate can become, this allows you to play the old way (no eating, just using potions and rest) or a more strategic wa and pack some rations... beside wahts the difference between packing 100 healing potions or a few sandwiches?

Werewolf Hunters

I hate to say it...but jobs... Fable 2 had them, and I thought it was great being able to make swords, chop wood, even serve beers, to make a quick gold (or few thousand in the upper ranks) in a few minutes.

Fable II's job system was terrible. It was soooooooo repitetive and you did the same things in all the jobs: press buttons (aabx, xxya, ayyy)!!!

And in Fable II gold didnt really matter since you made gold even when you were not playing as long as you owned some sort of real estate.

Yeah, and that was soooooooooooooooo difficult to do, considering money was free.

I like your werewolf hunting thing. If you can go after vampires, they have to exist as well. Even if the game doesn't have werewolves, they can still exist. I'd imagine that most of the experienced ones are Nords.
In Oblivion, when I was hanging with the vampire hunting dudes (I forgot the details, whoops) I was excited to go vampire hunting. You see, I was still new in the game and I assumed too much. Couple quests, no more thrills from that group; no more real vampire hunting quests. I'm talking organized quests. Not some idiot saying bring me some vampire ash blah blah blazzay.
A werewolf hunting group would obviously hunt in numbers often. The vibe I got is that werewolves are more dangerous than vampires - and I'm more of a vampire fan. So it could be interesting to join in on some real hunting parties. And I don't want the leader of the werewolf hunters to be a werewolf, thank you. Or a vampire.

i came in a bit late in this forum, but for the guy ot guys who want OB fast ravel and say keep cause if you dont like it dont use it, then ur dumb wrong, and going to hell. jk. but seriously then we would actually have to run from [censored] bruma to leyawiin for a [censored] fetch quest. ive been there done tht, and know tht i dont want to be forced to do tht again. with horses, mark recall, almsivi and divine intervention, guild transport, equivalent of silt striders, boats, and being able to move faster and jump higher from the get go like in OB, then why the [censored] should ppl like me be forced to run from Bruma to leyawiin, when tht wicked ass system would work just as well, if no better. :deal:
