TESV ocean based

I myself think that an ocean based game would bring new life to the elder scrolls it offers a great diversity through exploration of many small isles and sub-cultures.

Land, definitely land. But seeing an underwater city would still be good. But they should focus on land.

I voted both. I loved Wind Waker and I would enjoy seeing an Elder Scrolls game where you get to sail around exploring different islands. Hopefully if such a game were to ever come to fruition, Bethesda would learn from Nintendo's mistakes and cut back on the sailing time.

I agree with that as well but I think that to an extent there are many things you can add along the way pirate ships, traveling merchants, and even raiders that really just wait till you sleep and actually take things from you and your ship.

While a true ocean based sandbox rpg is a great idea, it's not suited for a main continuity ES game. If only they'd made some sort of spin off involving pirates......

Yokuda could be a good setting for a nautical themed game, from the limited maps there appears to be quite a few islands. Also the possibility of exploring the abandoned/destroyed cities is strangely appealing :)

When you say focus on ocean or land do you mean turning the games main story set on just the ship and maybe an island then later on going to mainland or do you mean having a new form of transport being a ship to other continents?

I think this would be a great idea for an expansion pack - they could keep adding new islands as dlc - this was the original plan for Quest for Glory 5 until Sierra went under. I don't think it would be a good idea for the entire game though.

I mean the main map be more water than land and then traveling between differant islands there can still be all kinds of cities and the such but they maybe on islands or maybe caravans of ships that travel together or stay in one place.

I see what you mean but I mean I personally wouldnt like that approach with the game being its mainset for you to be the captain of a ship. Maybe as DLC though I think that would be great. Almost like the Oblivion DLC with the pirate wreck in the cave, except before the crash.

Well you wouldnt start out as just some captian it is something you would have to earn maybe at first your just some random deckhand after awhile of doing quest for the ships captian throgh some series of events whether it be mutiny or attack or something you become the captian.
