TESV Toolset?

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 10:53 pm

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a toolset for TESV? I LOVED TESIV's toolset. The things I hope that they fix from the last toolset is how there would be strange glitches with the height-map editor (as far as I know). For example, if you make another world, it would usually get glitched at the coordinates 0,0. I also didn't like it how you had to download some third-party tools to customize color of signs and decals. I definately want the graphics to be superb. Another thing I disliked about the toolset was that it was too hard and complicated when it came to making quests. There was never a good tutorial to making your first quest. The only thing I came across on the toolset wiki was about editing a quest after downloading some crappy and unorganized files.

The main point about this thread is to see how many people would like a toolset for TESV.

By the way, TESV FTW! :obliviongate:

I hope so. It's one of the reasons I'm still playing Morrowind and Oblivion so many years after their release.

There better be. TES's toolsets are remarkably user friendly; well, except for quest scripting and the like, but that's just my inability to script.

Ditto. A TES game without the CS would be like X-mas without snow - still fun, but hardly as much.

I think there is no question a toolset will emerge. That is a huge reason TES has such a strong following.

I agree. They know they've got a massive fanbase of modders. They'd be stupid to turn their back on us.

Of course the answer is a very emphatic YES!
It is one of the things that gives Bethesda's games such a loyal fan-base as well as such longevity.

I'm still playing Morrowind - in 2010. I am also playing Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Daggerfall. None of them are in their original Out-Of-The-Box state (well, maybe Daggerfall) and its why they don't get old for me.
Each game = years of gaming pleasure. You can't beat that.

I can't imagine this even being an issue. Like everyone's said, the toolset is part of the reason why these games are so popular. They add an unparalleled level of replay value. And since they're not only in Morrowind and Oblivion, but FO3 and FONV as well, I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be in Skyrim.

A toolset/construction set is a godsend to us gamers and keeps the community alive even with 5 years (4 now, but it will be 5 when TES V has gotten here) since last game in the series was made.
